tips on getting the codes from ecu. rb20det

Ok so I have a 96 s14 with a 93rb20det*with nistune. The ecu has one red light. The light comes on and stays on. Ive tried twisting the flat head screw as it says both counter clockwise first then clockwise and the other way. Light just stays red. Figured maybe cause of the nistune. But as the car wont start the consult isnt working for whatever reason. Any ideas to get this to work would be much appreciated.

Engine doesn't need to be running for consult connection. Only need ignition key on.

Yup I know. I believe my consult is wired wrong cuz it says no consult connected. But it should still be throwing me a code from the ecu light.

Have you downloaded the manuals from Nistune? I would crosscheck the chassis consult harness with the Nistune manuals. I don't believe the ECU checks the consult connection, thus it wouldn't have any consult related fault codes.

The software has a fault code listing in it. Everything is downloaded correctly but still no 'consult connection' just hoping the ecu isnt fried

Turn screw fully counter-clockwise. Turn IGN switch to ON (do not start), red LED will turn ON. Turn screw fully clock-wise and LED should turn OFF. If not, ECU is not running. If LED turns OFF, turn screw back fully counter-clockwise and LED will then blink code(s). 55 means no DTCs set. To clear codes, turn screw fully clock-wise again until LED turns OFF (stops blinking codes), then back fully counter-clockwise. To keep any set codes, just turn IGN switch OFF.
