D2 Coilovers and Products!!!!

Ok guys, I started talking with a rep for the North America branch of D2, and decided that I would work on getting these coils out to the people, at a killer price. I remember when these came out back in the day, how excited people were for them, and then what became of them. After talking with the rep, I believe they have addressed those issues, and I think that these coilovers are a legitimate option for those looking for an entry level coil over, in the S chassis market and many more.

I have gone through quite a few s chassis over the years, and have had experience with quite a few sets of coilovers. I personally have owned Origin’s, Stance GR+, Stance Basic, and have had experience installing and riding in cars with K sport, Megan, HKS, Tein, and others.

I’m not here to sell these coils as something they are not, nor as a replacement for other brands, or saying that these are the be all and end all of all coilovers. I think they are an attractive option, and I plan on selling the Stance Basic’s I just bought for my daily to run a set of these, just so I can run what I’m selling. I am keeping my Stance GR+ on my second 240, as I am more than happy with them, and do not see the need to change. I am offering an alternative and a good one at that, not a replacement.

The main things that I have always looked for in a set of coilovers were Quality and Customer Service. I held a set of these in my hands for a friend’s M3, and workmanship wise, I think they are on par with any other entry level system I have seen personally. Good anodizing, welds, coatings, etc, nothing to let you down in terms of that. These coilovers also have a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects, just in case something does happen.

And the thing that has spoken to me is just that, the Customer Service. There is a reason that I have gotten all my pervious coilovers through the same company, and that is because they have taken care of any issues I have had, and I can speak to a person if I need too, and get is resolved. Pricy ass coilovers are all well and good, but they are a wear item. What are you going to do when something breaks, shocks blow, bearings wear out, you hit something with the car, etc. I am always available, I carry around a blackberry for phone calls and to check e-mails. I am usually on aim even when I am at my 9-5. I am more than happy to answer questions or assist you in any way I can. I am also in direct communication with the North American distributor, who has a giant inventory of both systems, and replacement parts. So, anything you need can be had with no issue.

Now, the caveat. I am a college student, not a business. I am not doing this to establish a shady business, rip people off etc. I make very little profit on these coilovers, but I am doing it to get my foot in the door, and to offer a friendly face to put to this line, and get them out in the open market again. I have quite a rep in the S chassis scene, and to those who know me personally, I am as honest as can be. These coilovers will be ordered and drop shipped when I receive the money from you, no monkey business. No group buys, no minimum buys. You pay me, I order them to be drop shipped to you, and I get the invoice. I am here to provide the means to the product, and be someone to talk to, to get information. I will do the best I can to answer questions and concerns, and if I can’t do it, rest assured I will get the answer. I have no desire to sully my name with this. If you are in the Mid-Atlantic region, and are interested in these but don’t want to set them up, let me know, I am more than happy to install them and set them up for you. Ask me for a quote for that.

Now, on to the product. I am offering the entire D2 line. Most of the sport line of coilovers are in stock, ready to ship, as well as some of the other products, hydraulic brake handles, some brakes, etc. Product that is not in stock will be ordered from the main supplier overseas, and can either be ordered for the next stock order, which could be a couple months or less, or air freighted, with an additional charge.

Also offered are inverted Front Coilovers, something that I hadn’t seen from them before. These aren’t in stock, but still something interesting they are offering, and are available.

Anything else they offer I can get you, hand brakes, sus arms, etc. It’s just a matter of time.

Visit their site for more products –

So just let me know what you are interested in, and I will do all that I can to make it happen for you.

Please reach me for pricing and availability on any D2 product, Thanks!!!!

before the mud slinging happens with the D2 stuff...im gonna say something about em

alot of people claim D2s are junk coilover...especially people who have never tried them and only go under false and uneducated pretenses and opinions

i was one of the early adopters of D2s coilovers on my car (bought my set of D2s in early 2004 when they first debuted in america)...i ran D2s on my S13 for the better part of 2 1/2 years...went thru an entire drifting season beating the snot out of em...the ONLY problem i ever had with them was the early issue of the oils used in them to cause a "clunking" noise in the winter time...outside of that...they worked like a champ

im sure theyve improved alot over the past 4 years of being available...i have sold D2s in the past and helped many customers with getting their cars setup correctly with them....D2s may not be the top of the line...but theyre a damn good coilover setup for the price...their customer service here in the states is awesome and they stand behind their product 100%

if youre in the market for the best bang for your buck coilovers...D2s are awesome =D

+1 for D2 being not as bad as you think.

I helped install a set on my friend's SC300 and test drove it, and it's a great set up for the frugal suspension shopper. The install was about 2 years ago, and he's still on the same set with no complaints.

My buddy has a set of the old ones and the top mount (camber plate) on the driver side is making clunking/poping noise - what could that be?

I also wanted to ask were they adjustable? - these dont have any pieces on top to adjust them? They were boughtr used and thought maybe the previous owner removed or lost the adjusters?

They are pink in color.

if the camber plate is making noise...soak it with a little WD40 and turn the steering wheel left and right...keep hitting it with light coats going from left counter to right counter...repeat this a few times...the balljoint has prolly just lost its lubrication...this happens sometimes to camber plates when they get old or if theyre exposed to very dry and hot climates (especially if you live in vegas or arizona)

if the DAMPER is making the noise...and its cold out...then you will need to speak with D2 of america about getting the damper rebuilt...they use to offer this service for free (not sure if they still do)...there was a problem with the oil viscosity in the winter time that would cause the damper to make "clunking" noises when piston compression would happen...this was a manufacturing problem and in no way can be caused by the customer...again...if this is the case...contact D2 of america to get your damper repaired

yes...all D2 dampers are adjustable...you should see a small hole at the top of damper...there is a hex key you can get from D2 (if the owner lost them all) that slides in that little hole that adjusts the stiffness of the damper...there is no clicking that happens...basically i use to adjust mine with the amount of turns...6 complete turns was full stiff

if the color of the dampers are pink...then theyre not D2s...D2s have always been and are still currently a metallic purple color (expect for the inverse dampers...which are silver and purple)

the free replacement was only good for 1 year after the recall and is no longer available. replacement shocks are $99 a piece. there's no rebuilding old shocks. you just buy new ones. Urban Imports is the place in Durham, NC that you go through to get replacements, and they keep shocks in stock.http://www.urbanimport.com/ lucky for me, i'm only 3hrs from them! i'm also rocking D2, going on 6 years now.

Yes they are purple in color - sorry about the pink

I will get up with http://www.urbanimport.com/ to see if I can get that adjustable tool - if a long t handled allen wrench will not work?

I checked into getting the new adjustment tools and I think they were about 15 dollars each. Ideally, you have one for each corner, but the fronts are easy enough to get to you only really NEED 3... one for each rear and one for the fronts to share. Talk to the OP of this thread and I'm sure he can order you new damper adjustment tools.

Thanks for the input guys, if you ever have issues from coils you buy from me just let me know and I will help you out.

A change in alignment wouldn't happen from the coilover, but would happen from something not being adjusted or installed properly and binding/ changing. Perks of me, lol, I'll be more than happy to walk you through any issues you have.

Sent PM's to everyone I got, if you didn't get a price I didn't get your request.

How didn't I see this before.

I've been personally running D2 coilovers for the past 6 or so months with absolutely NO problems whatsoever.

My car hasn't seen any track days(yet...), but it sure does go through its share of spirited driving and constant canyon runs.

You can go pretty damn low with them too.

Here's mine. It can still go 1 1/2" lower, just so you know...

They're a great set of coilovers for the price.

I can personally vouch for them.

I would hope someone would have higher expectations from a suspension part, than just not falling apart.

I don't know quite what you mean by this, but ok, so do I, lol.

Rode in a set I sold to a guy with a 4 door 5 speed BMW 328i, rode awesome, I was suprised how well it rode to be honest, I also drove it and kicked it around a bit, I was very pleased with the result, as is he.
