Is that not what independent switchable map sets means? (As ECUMaster DET3 advertises)

Switchable map sets means there is a way to switch maps without plugging anything. Hit a switch, voila, new maps. You need to plug a computer on the nistune if you want to change the map set (and your computer can store an infinite number of sets)
Different sets can be used upon conditions, like a "full power set" and a "despicable driving condition set" ... but that is just wishful thinking in the end.
What are you calling "in case something goes wrong" ? ECUs have a standard set and a "fallback" map sets, that allows a limp mode when something is wrong already.
