okay
the previous owner of my car (I bought it about a year ago...Im just now going to do something about it) decided to paint the valve cover blue and white.  By himself.  With acrylic paint.  Its really dumb looking because its not painted evenly and its a little sloppy.  What is the best way to get that shizite off? or do I have to buy a new valve cover? what would that run me?

take it off and have it sand blasted then repaint that is the best way to do it

On the topic of previous owners, I've learned over the past few months just how important a factor that is to consider.  Now, I'm maniacal about maintaining my car, as I'm sure we all are here - but so many other people just aren't.

When I bought this car, the rear window was all f'n dirty and scratched - even a had a huge tear in it.  It was hideous, but the price was alright, and I knew I could have the window replaced anyway.  That was the first thing I did, so it's all nice and clear now.  But, my point is this.

I keep discovering more and more wrong with the overall condition of this car, and time and time again, it's based on poor-treatment earlier.  The moral of the story of this: someone who didn't care enough to replace that window on their own, certainly won't care enough to replace other things either.  I've spent enough on bringing this car back to stock specs that my 'good deal' on buying it as evened out to what is should've cost in the first place.

Soon I hope to have more money, and push it past spec, but man was it 'spensive just to get it this far.  If you notice anything wrong with a used car, assume that the rest of the car is just as bad.
