I'm working on my clutch and trans, went ahead and pulled shifter from gear box, there are two snap rings one smaller one larger than other. My question is does the smallest one get installed first then then much larger one ? Also the groove in the shifter housing will only support one ring ?

the ring with no eyes for your pliers to fit in locates in the groove on the box. the ring with the eyes goes underneath the 'no eye' ring(between the no eye ring and the white plastic socket thingy.

you can just leave the 'no eye' ring in the box and remove the eye one. so put the no eye in first then the shifter assembly with the eye ring dangling around on the shifter.
