Interest Check// Custom S13 Vented Coilpack Covers

Hi All,

I just wanted to do an interest check and pitch this idea to see if there is a market for custom vented S13 SR20DET coil pack covers. So far I have 2 concepts, The first being one with vents down the length of the cover. The 2nd has 4 vents on either side with a flat area in the middle.

The thought behind the 2nd design is to be able to customize to suite the buyer. One could have their screen / team name engraved into the centre for a nice custom touch. PLEASE NOTE: I will not be engraving copyrighted company logos (NISMO, NISSAN ect.) so don't ask.

Parts come with the raw aluminum finish and do not include any logos or branding. Paint them, powder coat them or sandblast them for a nice matte finish.

The Coilpack cover design clears stock coilpacks but would come with 6 longer M5 x 0.8mm x 20mm socket head cap screws. The new longer hardware allows the use of a spacer (not included) to clear aftermarket coil packs if needed.

I was thinking $70USD shipped for the standard vented one and $90USD shipped for a custom job.

Let me know,

-Jordie

I made up a prototype and did a quick test for fitment . Everything lines up and fitment is perfect (the valve cover had snapped hardware in the last two holes.)

Suggestions/ Comments?

The coilpack cover has been made a million times over.
I do think you can make your money out of it. Your design already looks 10x better than most. Any way to make it quickly removable? Something like a zeus fastner or something...
Itd really set you apart. Just off my head, bring the flame lol

Make sure you get a vendor account before you start selling these. People will want these and it will save you time getting locked down.

Thanks for the kind words. Many designs I've seen are punched or laser cut not many are machined. I think it adds more depth and a better feel to the part. I know people also dont always like having company logos or fixed colours or finishes. Selling them with a raw finish keeps the cost down and allows the buyer to paint it to match his/ her setup or leave it raw for an industrial/ machined look.

For sure, I just want to make sure people want them before paying a vendors fee.

I managed to take the prototypes and head out to the shop today to grab some pictures of both the cover styles mounted.

Full vented one is sweet! You should make them for s14 VCs too, I'm about to do a s13.4VC and there are not many coilpack cover options for the s14 style.

The bend on the S14 VC is tricky to keep consistent but I'm looking into it.

I can vouch for the quality and fitment. The white "deadmachine" S13 SR valve cover is mine.
Jordie has the size and everything set to fit perfectly.

They're nothing but quality.
