No, I did not trade anything except money for this car. Thanks for all the compliments folks... let me know if there's anymore questions.

Price has been reduced... been getting lots of interest from lots of different places, just no bites. Just to clarify again, as stated in the original post, this does not come with a US title, just Japanese regregistration papers. However, plenty of people drive S15's in the states, its upto the buyer to figure out how.

The bond release that the DOT is sending now, is like a book. They basically say that it wasn't the owners fault, the owners did their best, and the DOT is allowing the car. The purpose of having such a letter is to show that your shiny new S15 that you just plunked down 20k for was brought in legally and not in some way that would circumvent EPA and DOT regs. This would keep that 20k track toy from going back to the shipyards or worse, a crusher. Not trying to shit on your fs thread, but buyer beware there are things you need to know before just saying oh I want this on a whim and then you try to register it. If anyone needs help or further questions pm me I will be more than happy to help. |

I'm sorry but I do not know anything about a DOT release bond. I purchased this car from a friend who only provided me with Japanese reregistration papers. There are a few S15's that I know of driving around without a DOT release bond and I'm sure they're well aware of the risks but daily drive their cars just fine.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask, thanks.

does this car have a DOT/ customs bond release?
wait nevermind it does not have any DOT Bond release of any kind, it's not in there system. don't believe me call them yourself with his chassis # 202-366-5291 chassis#s15-003495 if you could provide a bond release, i'd shell out your asking price otherwise $7k cash which is what i would pay here on the west coast |

regardless of my earlier post, bond release or no bond release, this car is in the United states already, and it is really really clean looking, like sex on wheels, you really do not need a titled or street legal s15 here in the us, slap some dealer plates on it and drive it, further more this car is a car to take to the track, build up... his asking price is fair, because there are companies here that claim to have the car, but dont. this car is clean, i'm willing to flyt out and look at it.
Its like not like i'd want to drive this on the street, it'd be stolen right away. |
