abs question
quick question. if i use non abs rotors on an ABS 240sx what would that do? would it just deactivate the abs? just wondering b/c the price difference in rotors at napa is $60 between abs and non abs. i could care less if my abs works or not so if thats the only thing that happens with that then i will go with the non abs rotors. buying a car that sat for a year has its downfalls. one of my brake pads is almost non existant (ugly metal to metal sound)

don't quote me on this, but i'm just guessing. i'm assuming the ABS rotors have special marking on it which let's the ABS sensor to know which wheels has traction and which dosn't.
i am assuming when you buy non-abs breaks, the ABS sensor will read nothing on all 4 rotors, i don't know if that's good or bad. if you have ABS just buy ABS rotors, the difference is worth the money

the difference between rotors is size. ABS equipped cars had different calipers & rotors than non-ABS cars.
Also, the ABS sensor reads from the hub, not the rotor, which is why you can keep your ABS when doing brake upgrades. |
