Possible engine swap!?!?
Hi guys, will first off and say I'm a total noob at engin swaps. Now down to my question, I have an opportunity to buy a 78 datsun 510 for cheap and maybe get ahokd of a dodge viper motor from my school and I'm wondering if it would fit in the datsun at all. I have seen a viper motor swap in a 80's corolla coupe.

Anything will fit with enough fabrication.
That being said - with limited skills (or as you put it - total noob) you will likely end up yanking your hair out trying to do it. I say go for it - and have fun! You will spend *a lot* of time on it- likely a lot of money- and definitely your hairline will recede from stress while trying to learn about everything. Once you are done though - your automotive knowledge will be increased by that much

If you have the opportunity to pickup a 510 for "cheap" I'd say go for it. This is a great platform to build upon with a large online community.
As for swapping in a Viper engine... I'll believe it when you actually have it. Otherwise there are much better options for engines to swap into a 510 without hacking it to pieces just to make it fit.
