I asked this when i was 16 and bought my first 240 haha zilvia is ruthless you'll learn to love it. Anyways why not get some turbo experience and go KA-T ??? It wont break the bank as much as rb or jz will and you still get a torque monster that you can build upon. Good luck

im sure you can turbo a ka for next to nothing.

I know a USED s2000 motor and trans ALONE is hanging in the $4000-$5000+ range and thats with NOTHING done to it. No stroker, turbo etc.

What people never put on here is how expensive this shit really gets. ya a $4000 motor is just a motor without 90% of what it really needs.

well i have a big turbo built sr20 but i just want something new i have 2 of them one im parting out and one im selling as a hole swap i would like a rb there is no need to be rude and joke about things i was asking a question to see what peoples ideas are thanks for everyone that helped

Aside from the hate of the ls, its a light, powerful and reliable motor. If you want a turboed motor id say rb25, to me they look better than 2js. And I see/ work on 2js at school, we have tons of them and i could care less for them. And for the comments on him being 19 and dreaming, just because someone is young doesnt mean they are stupid or poor. I know some young guys making more then most of the older guys on here.

the problem with RB series engines is that they are far more expensive and parts are harder to find than just about anything you can put into a 240sx. RB swaps are for people with money that just want to say that they have a skyline engine.

The 2jz-gte (NON vvti) wins hands down every single time for the most inexpensive reliable swap that is capable of 500 horsepower with OEM internals on a daily driver 25mpg basis. Nothing else comes close except the LSx series engines, which are a bit more expensive, and they lack the turbocharger aspect, but they are just as fun if not more fun to drive.

the sr20 is the cheapest most reliable option for about 300 horsepower daily driver aspect, and it will give 28+ mpg in the 240sx chassis. its also the quickest to install, around 3-6 hours for a complete swap (old engine out, new engine in) if you know what you are doing and have all the parts ready.

very true. like every1 says up here, without bashing, it all depends on money, taste, plans and time. think about what YOU want to do with the car. What power range YOU want. other aspects that YOU need to research fully b4 just tossing money in any direction IMO

Ls1. Powerful, fuel efficient (moreso than the KA), extremely easy to find parts, cheap upgrades, reliable, DISPLACEMENT, not much heavier than the KA so allows to maintain balance of car, etc, etc, etc.

^ 100% agree with this guy. Power on tap, lightweight, easy to repair, everyone knows how to tune them and with a nice cam will make anyone turn their head. LS all the way.
