I tried searching, and I'm getting so many different answers, so I wanted some fresh input.

I was making a left turn today, and as I'm shifting from first to second, the clutch pedal made a snapping sound and went straight into the floor. I had to jump out and push it for a quarter mile. I took a look, and the clutch pedal has this rod behind it that it hits, but that rod is all over the place. The clutch pedal makes contact with it, and then pushes it a different direction, as if its not lining up. It looks like theirs these metal plates that were connected to the rod from the pedal, but they snapped off. I'm able to bring the clutch back out when I pull it, but as soon as I push it, it falls straight to the floor.

I'm thinking that its the CMC (a lot of people said this), but what is that rod the pedal hits? And it was almost time for me to get a new clutch, so would that have caused this?

Any input is greatly appreciated. I'm pulling my hair because I have no idea how much the repair is going to cost.

-Forgot to mention. The car still turns on, as if the clutch is pressed down. But it wont get into gear.

can you post a pic of it cuz there is a lot of shit under the dash.

The car is sitting inside a shop, and their closed, so I can't get a picture. They said they would let me know whats wrong, I just want to know in advance.

Its just a rod that goes through the firewall, and gets pushed when you press down the pedal. I'll try to find a picture.

If you're talking about a rod that connects to the clutch pedal through fire wall.. that would be the clutch master.

easy fix two 12mm nuts holding the clutch master in place and one pin on the bottom where the rod comes out and is secured to the clutch pedal with clip.. then just bleed clutch pedal easy fix

Would a bad clutch be the cause for this? I plan on fixing the pushrod, but won't be able to get a new clutch for 2 weeks. Will I be ok?

The U shaped piece bracket at the end of the mastercylinder on your picture, that has a tendency to break. I bet that shit snapped and now the pedal isnt pushing the shaft in. More than likely, that's all you need. Problem is, I'm not 100% sure if you can get just that piece.

the pin came off just go to the auto yard and get some pins or just replace the unit its not that pricey I am going to replace my fiancés since her's its doing the half way clutch dip, soon it will just sink in

I was told that you can't buy that piece separately, that you have to replace the whole CMC.

The transmission shop just called me and said they can do it for $75. Fucking sweet! They said they will be able to fix it without replacing the CMC.
