There is no bearing for the S chassis, they run a spindle. The ID is 50mm's and the spindle is shrink fit in the upright and also secured in the rear with a nut.

The upright could potentially be used in many custom applications.

What vehicle is it? We are also releasing a Skyline version later this year.

Regards,
Greg

Got my knuckles modded, dropped down to fix the roll center, 0 ackerman, and went with S14 LCA's w/bump stops removed and boxed in. The package is available from DR Motorsports in North Carolina.

and a vid testing.

That's a nice setup!

So lets talk about traction arms, how much do you usually lengthen them vs lengthening of camber arm and have any of you measured bumpsteer before and after?

Some stuff from NRR by Full race Geoff:

Quote:
To adjust camber, do it with the eccentric!! Do not change RUCA length, just the eccentric bolt's position. Use the same lengths on both L&R sides (assuming your crossmember, LCA and bushings are all proper and undamaged, you would be surprised how many cars have bent lcas or subframes).

To adjust toe, DONT do it with the eccentric! run the eccentric so that the toe arm is the shortest possible length, then adjust toe with the arm length.

if the car is going to be lowered substantially, this requires longer lengths for the RUCA and toe arms.
Quote:
R34 nismo trac arm length +5mm over S14
R34 nismo RUCA length +5mm over S14

due to this thread, i ran:
+6.35mm over S14 trac arm length
+6.35mm over S14 RUCA length
Quote:
if you decide to use any sort of roll center adjuster the REAR LCA MUST BE LENGTHENED,
Nismo Z-tune:

Quote:
Isn't it interesting that the STOCK ration Traction to UCA gives the best/least toe change. Nissan engineers must be fairly sharp.

^ look back thru this thread. there are a few years of Infiniti I30s ('94 thru '98 maybe?) with tie rods identical to the s14 PLUS another 35mm iirc. buy those and cut them down to length if needed.

...which (now that i think about it) should also cross-reference with a Nissan Maxima since they shared the same chassis.

We are trying to incorporate a modular mount however we know if this is going to be achievable until we've done a bit more FEA work.

If you are I would like yo throw out that the stock Z32 angle of the Shock mount holds a weird angle when put on S14's. 13's its OK it when installed on 14's that the angle is weird. At least from what I've seen.

I may have to use these do youj think they would be long enough with a spacer on the pass side with 1" extended S14 lca on an S13? Or could I get away with a spacer on each side, and continue to use my S14 inner tie rods? And one last thing, I've heard that using 2 spacer will cause overcentering of the rack, is this true in all casses?

We have already seen this when we modeled the 2 rears. The toe arm is also a fair bit lower on the Z32's.

We've done some initial toe curve comparisons to see where we want/need the adjustment. See attached file.

i have an s13, and if you read my previous posts, you would know that i have DA shocks that are adjusted on the bottom. If I had s13 style shock mount I would have to literally to the shock off the car, take the damper outside of the housing and adjust. No thank you.

And no I don't want garbage china 'coilovers'. I have proven race shocks...

Z32 rear fork and enough room for Q45 axles would be so nice, then I wouldn't have to mod them for my Q45. lol

Are you saying the Z32 rear knuckle toe link, pickup point is in a different height position in comparison to a factory S-chassis knuckle?

GKTECH would the adjustable bracket for the tie rod, for the 599 would u get just one, per side? since u mentioned some brakets will be longer, some would be used for drift and other for road racing, or how much would it be per each additional bracket?

$599 will include 1 set of steering arms and we're expecting replacement steering arms to be around the $99/pair mark. At this stage we've modeled the standard position, DW and an intermediate which is right in the middle of the 2 in length and ackerman. We'll also release more in the future and given the modular nature of the knuckles, it certainly won't be hard for people to make their own.

Make a set of steering arms that are shortest possible with no ackerman for parallel steering.

We will in the future. For now we've got the standard location, extreme drift and intermediate which is right in the middle. We're expecting the steering arms to sell for $99/pair.

Thanks for the answer on the tie rod question guys, or any question I have asked on here for that matter, anyways, Mods, could we possibly start requiring more of new members, the post above GK Tech's last post is the second spam I have seen on this thread alone
