Towing a NON-rolling shell? How?

Was wondering how one goes about loading a non-rolling shell onto a trailer... without harming the shell of course. Has anyone ever done this? How did you do it? I'm looking to pick up the shell from Arizona in a days if possible and would really like some input. I'm also looking for a car trailer, so if anyone has one they'd be willing to let me borrow/rent out for a couple of days that would be great.

How much can you dead lift? Try rolling dollies.

As for trailers, I think u-haul actually rents out various sized trailers. MUST have a 1500 rated truck and hitch though

Not sure I can dead lift what I assume is about 1500 lbs. lol But rolling dollies might work probably. Also, doesn't uhaul only have those ramp type car trailers?

Yes it certainly is, but if I can get it home without breaking the bank.. I will be the envy of more than one person.

Hmm... any chance they'll let me use one of these for the job? Looks like these have an actual floor.

I'm sure they would...but don't tell them that it doesn't have wheels. And with the trucks, you have to return them with a full tank. One last thing! Make sure you get the dimensions of the trailer to make sure the shell will even fit!

Not wide enough to fit cars in those. Get a regular car trailer. As far as the chassis, since its not a roller, how gutted is it? Might just be light/empty enough to have 4 people lift it. Done that before. Or like said, get car dollys to move it around.

Yea, now that I'm looking at them more closely they look a bit too narrow. It is completely gutted, as in there is not one bolt attached to it as far as I know. The car in question is a S30Z btw. Not sure if 4 people would do the job honestly since I've never done that myself.

Find a hill and park the trailer at the bottom... PUSH!!! I have done that with my Z more times than I care to count. Took three of us to push a 65 Mustang onto a trailer, not even gutted, just didnt run.

Get some of the bigger "offroad" wheels instead of the plastic ones, jack car up, slide dolly under, push onto trailer.

I was thinking about this while I was driving earlier.. and than it dawned upon me - Engine stands or engine hoist, one at each end.

Now would be the perfect time to put that bitch on a weighing scale and see how much a bare chassis weighs.

There isn't any 'nice' way to do it. We usually get the car on plywood and drag them on with winches.

Yea, I'm going the rolling dollies way, now I gotta find a car trailer big enough to fit the bitch. The shell is just a pair of inches bigger than the biggest utility trailer. I'm contemplating on using those ramp style trailers but I'm still trying to figure out how the hell I can load it up there without damaging both the trailer since they have some kind of flaps and the shell's undercarriage.

you can knock yourself up a dolly out of ply and castors. Just make sure castors are the right size and the plywood is thick enough.

Just recently moved mine using one:
