A little update. While the motor was out I decided to redo the finish.. Some of you may not like it now, but once its all together I really think it will look amazing. If you can picture this.. The car is titanium effect, a silver grey, off of the new 370z/GTR. The engine, radiator, fuel rails, breather box, all satin black. The engine bay painted body color with the new intake satin black. Wheels satin black, wrinkle black calipers, black interior, etc. Here are a few pictures of the motor right now. I still have some accessories and the fuel rails to powder coat.
The plastic intake manifold has a texture to it that I really liked once it was painted. If you look close, after the valve covers where in primer, I sprayed them with a texture to match the intake. Here you can see the breather fittings welded in the back of the valve covers. The engine bay is finally in primer and ready to be sanded out and painted. I welded up a few unnecessary holes while I was in the process of doing the radiator support. If you look at the firewall, I have made the hole for the mil spec plug. Also on the passenger side fender apron, there is an additional hole for a smaller mil spec plug. It will include all the wiring for the illumination and cooling fans. Here is a close up of the radiator support tabs I made.. really proud of these for some reason. |
