Need help on sohc to dohc ground wire

So recently I did a sohc to dohc swap and on the harness from the dohc there’s a black wire that is for ground that the sohc doesn’t have, do I need to ground that wire to the chassis and also would this cause the car not to start?

i know nothing about KA's but i do know about wiring in general but why wont your car start, does it not crank over or does it just not start in general. also it would help if you could post some pictures for us to see which wire you are talking about because theres damn near a hundred wires coming off of the back of that ecu.

I’ll try to get pictures tomorrow but the problem is that I’m not getting any spark at all and I have a brand new distributor and coil so the car cranks but won’t turn over.
