Ka24de with a miss issue please help!

Hello all new here. I've tried troubleshooting this engine and can't seem to track down the problem. The number two cylinder won't fire no matter what I do I bought it off a guy said he had just did a fresh rebuild on it it starts up and runs said it was an injector issue so I put an all new set in it, that didn't work I put all new plugs in it that didn't fix it, did a compression test they all tested fine, put new plug wires on it still no dice, and tried replacing the wire to the injector for the cylinder that won't fire. Any help you guys can offer would be much appreciated! Thank you

Is the injector firing? If you're not sure its getting power get a noid light set or a peanut bulb (158/161/168) bend out the wires carefully and insert into the injector harness, it'll flash if its working.

I have yet to try that but after I've tried letting it idle for a min I took the spark plug out and it's covered in black soot. So if the injector isn't firing what could the problem be?

What does the black soot smell like?
How do your cam lobes look if you pull the valve cover? Maybe valves not opening up correctly

I didn't smell the spark plug but from the exhaust I can smell very raw fuel, and I have yet to take the valve cover off because to be honest I wouldn't know exactly what I'd be looking for :/
