LF 300zx repair shop

I was wondering if you fellas knew any 300zx specialists in the Los angeles area...
My 4th gear is Shit (my guess is synchros)

I was wondering whatt would be the most cost effective solution...
Buy a jdm trans with 50k in miles for 350 and have my buddy put it in for about half shop price
--------Or--------
Do a rebuild through a sane shop (no clue what rebulds run)

Any guru advice???

The car is a 94 with a TT swap (manual trans)

seriously?

You have money = Rebuild
You have no money = buy used one

If you're going to keep the car for a while, invest into it.
If you're not, just find the cheapest solution.
Where in LA are you?

I'm trying to broaden my JDM knowledge by asking questions... :P

I can spend the extra money I just don't need overkill... I had a quote for a rebuild from a "300zx only shop" but I haven't been able to keep in touch with the owner -_-

I want to get in touch with a shop You guys trust... I know how critical people are on the forums when it comes to fair prices and good service.

I'm very new to the scene, so far I like the community. I'm just not familiar with shops that specialize in zchassis' work.

I'm in valley village.

Feels like 4th gear's synchro gave up on life, decided to take a dump in my tranny, and is just waiting to die.

It won't be long till I start losing gears because it grinds unless I double clutch into 4th.

Lol No one knows reputable shops in the LA area?

Take a look at: TwinTurbo.NET: Nissan 300ZX forum - The experiment paid off....

Also to answer your original Q: https://specialtyz.com/ up in Chatsworth. They are more tuning oriented, but could probably give you an opinion on the problem.
