KA Ka24e alt not charging

Anyone know what the problem is ? I noticed if I take off the tiny ground that charges my alternator it doesn't spark , even when the 75a fuse is plugged in . 240sx alternator problem - YouTube.

Does the Battery light in your dash come on when the motor is off, ignition on.
If so, does it go off when the motor is started?

the battery light stays on but i think its because i dont have the tiny alternator ground plugged. the only way for me to have power dash/electronics is if i have it disconnected , because once i connect that tiny alternator ground i blow a fuse.and im pretty sure that tiny alternator ground is supposed to charge my alt. i have no idea how to fix it.

The ground doesn't charge the alternator but ill explain how it is important.

You have 4 "terminals" at your alternator.

-You have your main hot that feeds the battery and electrical system
-You have you ground which is done through motor/chassis (not a terminal, I know)

Then you have a 2 pin plug on it.
-One of them (yellow IIRC) is for your voltage regulator. It sees 12+ source voltage from the battery and tells it when to turn on, if it needs to turn on.
-The other outputs a ground (white/red IIRC) that completes a circuit in the dashboard at the battery light with a 12v fused source on the other side of the bulb. I don't know how or why, but I know it is fact, but if that circuit is not completed, the alternator will not charge.

Normal operating is:
When the car is off, but ignition is on, alternator not spinning. Alternator outputs the ground and your battery light is on.

If the motor is running, alternator is spinning, and the ground circuit is connected... the light should go off.

An instance where you break an alternator belt, engine is running but alternator not spinning, the light would come on to show malfunction.

If there is a break in that circuit, The alternator will not charge and the battery light will not be on regardless. It only has a 12v hot going to it with no ground source.

The light is there to detect malfunctions. Your light is working so it can only be 2 things *assuming it grounded)

-You have a break in your voltage regulator wire. Could be a blown fuse
-Your alternator just not charging anymore.

I think it is the voltage regulator wire that you are disconnecting since your battery light is staying on. It is fused and it is required to charge your alternator.

If it was me, I would but 12v from the battery (preferably fused to the voltage regulator wire. If your system gets 14v while running, you have a fault in your wiring.

If it blows the fuse, I would think that the alternator is overcharging or shot.

Im actually not sure why you took out a fuse to the alt and then connected it.. When you take that fuse out. your instantly open circuit and have no connectivity between the alt and the battery even when the cables are connected... Obviously if there is a spark coming from the terminal there is some sort of charge coming from the cable... Also are you sure your battery is not bad ? On my s13 ka24e-t my battery is so dead that even after i drive a couple miles it wont hold a charge.. some batteries will just not hold a charge for longer than a couple hours..
