hi guys. ive been reading on here and joined the other day, and ive found a 92 240 se for sale. 102,000 miles, and hes asking 4700 for it. its a real nice car, though i want to put some stuff on it. ive read about the exhausts on here, and ive decided to get the apex i gt spec exhaust. i want to buy a set of 17 inch konig verdicts , and upgrade the suspension too. i am planning on going autocrosssing all the time in this, and driving it daily. i was thinking about eibach sportline springs, but i have no clue for struts, would i need new struts with the springs? and all of the struts are $$$$. thats what will be eating up all my money. im 15, and looking for a good car. i am a TOTAL nissan freak and ive always wanted a rear wheel drive nissan, and i recently found out about the 240, and i love it. im wanting this car to be hot, but comfortable, and i want it looowww. i like the konig verdicts, but man if i had the money for some nismo wheels, #### thad be nice. what do you guys advise me to do if i get this car? ill basivly be limeted to abut $2500 for aftermarket parts. im thinking of wheels, suspension, and exhaust.( gotta have a screaming nissan sound out of it) is there any lace that offers the nismo wheels cheap? im looking to spend about 1200 dollars or less on wheels, and i want high quality. the konigs are good, i can get them for 1100 w/ tires. what really makes me mad is i wont have enough money for sparco seats and harnesses. thouhg this friday ill have enough for my apr V-spec wing if i want one for it. i love wings. i think id look good on a slammed 240. o well please help guys im totally lost on this one. oh by the way, does anybody know where you can get those huge nismo body graphics for like the side of the car? i like those alot. oh, i forgot to say the 240 is black.

If I had $2500 to spend on my 240, this is what I'd do...
KYB AGX adjustable shocks--~$400
Eiback ProKit springs--~$250
Suspension Techniques rear sway bar--~$160
OBX f/r strut tower bars--~$90
Injen intake--$200...cold air extionsion another $100
Apex'i N1 or 5Zigen Fireball cat back--$450-500
HotShot headers--~$380
some black steel 15" rims from a baseline 240 and R compound rubber for the cone dancing--~$600
grand total--$2580...ok I went over. Shipping charges would knock you over even more so you'd have to sacrifice something. Plus any drop much more than an inch will require f/r camber correction kits...maybe $100-120

just my opinion, forget the wing for now...and forget the vynil graphics forever. Those make an otherwise nice-looking car look really tacky. A tasteful wing would accomodate it nicely, but it's not necessary. PDMracing has a nice wing for the fastback. But that's just me...I'd rather my car BE fast before it LOOKS fast. Cars that look fast and aren't fast are just a complete turnoff to me.

BTW, Welcome to the site.

i like that suggestion exept the wheels and wing. i know what you mean. im wanting to have all the flash, and smash. flash is more expensive, and in my opinion if i cant get it now for the car i dont know if i ever will. the performance stuff i can work ip money and buy them one at a time . but wheels are so expensive i dont knw if i could work up that kind of money. remember ill only be making minimum wage or a little more, ill be turning 16 and not be raking in the dough yet. is the apex i n1 better than the gt spec? i like the gt spec better, and ive heard the n1, its ok. i want an ehxaust that has lows, but screams when the rpms are up.thanks for the suspension help. i think ill just stick with the prokit. ive seen the pdm wing and i dont lke it. i like the one i found. what is the best wheel size for autpcrossing in a 240? thanks alot guys.

I see your point about getting the wheels first. They are expensive. If I had the money, I would get some nice 17s for the street and then get some of those 15" steel rims (light=less rotational mass) and some stickier rubber for race days. This way, you don't eat up your street tires at AutoX and the R compound tires on the lighter wheels will perform better (they just don't look to good). But if that's too much, some 16" with some good street rubber is a good compromise (this is the route I'll take). If you can find some fairly light 17s, they'd be fine. It's just whatever you want more...looks or performance.
As far as the Apex'i exhausts...I've just heard better reviews about the N1. I haven't personally tried either, but that'll change soon. I have an N1 being shipped to me as we speak;).
Can you give me a link to that wing? I'd like to see what your talking about.

Just a suggestion...
if you're gonna go with a wing that wild, you need a bodykit and at least 17" rims to complement it. Otherwise, it'd look a little mis-proportioned (IMHO). Like I said, if it were me, I'd forget about cosmetics until I put some umph! into the car. Body kits, big metal wings, and large wheels add significant dead weight to the car.
Are you going for a show car or a fast car?

Something I do when I'm thinking of doing something to a car...
Research it, find out what it will look like, find out how it will perform, look at pictures of it (cosmetic pieces) and imagine it on your car FOREVER...after all of this ask yourself "Do I still want it?" I remember last year when I was thinking of getting a newer Prelude...I was gonna slap a WingsWest Agressor kit on it as soon as I got it. But after looking at several pictures and trying to imagine me driving it around, I not only decided against the body kit, I decided against the whole car! I'm not trying to persuade you against what you want to do...just making sure you really want to do it.

Also... if you buy a wing that big you will need a Turbo and Brakes IMHO

hehe. Yeah, I love the look of a wing like that, but I don't think it would be good on a 240, especially the fastback. Plus you're definately going to need some balls to back it up.
