1jz and the Borg Warner s360

I have a 1jz with a r154

I am looking for a good single turbo and pretty much have my mind set on the Borg Warner s360 just wondering if anyone else has this set up I've done some searching and most people say get the s366 but I hear those are a bit lazy on the spool.

Car will be a street car and just a car I drive for fun

Looking for no more than 400-500 to the wheel not looking to go any further than that. I bout a top mount single turbo manifold so I'm going to be going with a single ( in case some suggest upgrading the twins)

I'll be getting the haltech ps2000 Ecu in time as well as a top feed rail with 880cc injectors front mount intercooler and 3" exhaust.

This is a project im piecing together so any help is welcome

It's a 1jzgte non vvti

No need to spend GTX money if you don't have it. With slightly slower spool BW's will be just fine. They come T4 divided and or open. I use a divided mani myself. Fitment is tight but i had no issues. Some use a spacer to clear the front runners. This is in a Soarer

That's kind of what I was hearing about the BW with the fitment and the spacer helps. and thank you for the picture man very nice !

What air intake and pipe did you use for the turbo ?

And from what I see the prices are not bad for the bw around 750-800 shipped for the s360,362 and 366. Which is s bit cheaper than the gtx.

It'll be going into a 78 280z.

K&N air filter. The rest is easy stuff to get. That's why i went with BW the prices are very affordable. A similar GTX turbo will twice if not more.

Hello good sir, I would highly recommend the new S300SXE line from BorgWarner, standard with 360 degree thrust bearings, FMW compressor wheels, and newly designed and more efficient compressor covers. The smallest of the lot, the 61.44mm inducer, 76mm turbine "S361SXE" flows over 70lbs/min, and will be absolutely perfect for your application. This turbo in the .91 housing (recommended) would be an EASY 400whp setup on a 1JZ.

+1 on the GTX being over rated Comp turbos makes a sweet triplex bb aluminum center cartridge turbo with a XH-F extended wheel tip flows 30 percent more example: their CT3B with the XH-f wheel 5562 is about the size of a GT3071r but is rated to 58lbs per min.

S400's are BIG. How much power are you looking to make? It doesn't make much sense to run an S400 unless you're looking to push 900+whp.
