It will take some time, search LS1tech.com for your LS parts.

Thanks bud! Just ordered a new steering rack and pinion since my old one had busted seals and leaked everywhere.

Contemplating going for a rear mount turbo setup this winter, more to come.

When I first saw this I thought it needed to be lower.

But for some reason it works. Cool stuff.

Well been doing some small things to the car. Put a new throttle cable on to get rid of my sticky old one as well as a new steering rack to get rid of those blown seals on the old one. Painted some of the random trim and b pillars.

I will still make a video of this thing as soon as I get some time!

What Thunder Racing cam did you go with? If you don't want to say on here, PM me the specs please, i've been looking into a cam upgrade. When you say trans line, you mean what? I don't run a trans cooler, but then again i'm assuming you're running and auto?

I'm about 1500rpm at 55, 2000rpm at about 62

And for shits and giggles, here's a little engine bay pic,

This is fairly old and quite a few things have changed since this. I will post up some recent pictures soon!

5.3

Awesome build, been lurking on it for awhile.

quick question for you thouhg, which oil pan are you using?

Im assuming you used a GTO oil pan. You didnt list it and I was just wondering if thats what you used, or does the 5.3 liter oil pan work.

I'm using the GTO front sump. As far as I know, it's the only stock GM pan that will work unless you run a custom welded pan.

A little update on this. Ordered a SLP 25% underdrive pulley and a 2002 zo6 cam, ls6 springs and pushrods and then will be getting retuned. Should pick up quite a bit of power from this and will post some videos afterwards!

Lmk if you notice enough difference from the ls6 cam to make the labor worth while. I have been loving my ls14 for almost a year now. Just wish i could afford a real tranny these t56's just aren't holding up. (drifting) though. Nice build.

I will and should notice quite an increase. These cam's have made over 60rwhp increases with the correct tune, and other supporting mods on the 5.3's. I'll give you a little more input once I finish it all up.

I'm using a 98 harness and PCM, but I would recommend looking for a 98-02 complete harness and PCM from a Camaro or a Fbody.

Ive been wanting to do a 5.3 swap ever since the first time I saw Car Craft do it! In fact they recently had an article about trying to destroy a 5.3 with twin turbos by doing it as cheap as possible with as much boost as possible, they got up to 26.8 lbs IIRC before they blew a ring or something. But they made over 1200HP! Turned out in the end to actually be a 4.8!!! Just goes to show why people want these motors.
And did I see this for sale recently?

I've thrown around the idea of many different ways that I could turbo it. I'm not quite sure what I really want to do with it yet.

and yes, I had it up for sale but I think i'm going to hold on to it a little longer.

Haven't updated this thread in quite a while...

This week i've got a lot to do on the car. Installed new FLCA's and balljoints, new tie rod ends, new Tension Rod bushings. Also picked up some Amsoil ATF to help clean up my T56's feel.

Saturday I will be installing the cam, springs, pushrods and underdrive pulley and also redoing the exhaust setup. It's still going to be the Daft headers and 3" y pipe, only instead of the HKS hi-power setup I'm running now, it is going to be a 3" inline Dynomax muffler to a 3" pipe that is more tucked and not sagging. It will give the car the more domestic sound that I'm looking for.

Will post some videos when all this happens.

New exhaust setup, now it's the Daft Longtube headers, 3" Y pipe, 3" inline dynomax muffler, 3" piping out. Sounds a lot better than before.

Here is the video of a startup and rev.
