BEWARE of Unknown Coatings / Shawn Shreve !!!

i wish i had read the many other negative reviews on Shawn Shreve & Unknown Coatings but here we are with another one..

The bad experience began December 2014, i sent Shawn my Blitz 03 faces to be gold plated. He took much longer than his original ETA, i did not receive the faces until FIVE MONTHS later, May 2015. I was thankful to finally be done with Shawn, But unfortunatly it didn't end there..

Here is how the faces looked when i got them. No complaints.



i put the wheels on my car June 14th, which was mostly driven only on the weekends for car shows. Towards the end of the season after only having them on my car for 4 months i noticed the gold was lifting and oxidizing in areas.. When i put the car away for winter i told him about the issues, he asked for pictures. I sent him these pictures [Jan 8 2016]:



















That is when the terrible customer service began, despite me being extremely patient and understanding Shawn continues to either ignore me or tell lies and excuses.

He said "give me a few, sending these to my computer"
Two days went by with no answer.
Jan 11 i texted him "Let me know what you think"
Again, no answer..
Feb 16 I text again "So what can we do about the faces"
Shawn: "we gotta strip em"
Me: "that's warrantied?"
Shawn: "Yup"
Me: "i pay shipping to you and you cover return shipping"
Shawn: "My guess is they will cover both but get em coming. we will handle it"

Feb 22 I shipped the faces to Shawn [Costing me $80] & texted him to let him know.



No response, March 2nd i asked if he received the faces.
he said "yeah already stripping them down"
March 9th he claimed they went through polishing.
[This was a Lie, They never even got polished]
I asked him how it was going march 16th, no answer, i ask again the 17th, no answer. He responds March 18th "Plated "
[This is the first time he lies about the faces being finished]
Me: "when will they ship out?"
Shawn: "gonna clear em monday so ship tuesday or wednesday, you have a receipt from shipping?"
Me: "awesome , yeah i sent you a picture of it^"
Shawn: "sounds like they're covering it all" [i still have not been reimbursed the $80]

March 26, 28, 30, & 31 i ask for an update. [no responses]
April 1st he responds asking for my shipping address.. i tell him.
April 11th i ask for a tracking number. [no response]
April 19th i ask again. [no response]

April 21st
Me: "You've had my faces for a month & a half now i have been trying to stay patient but its getting a little ridiculous. Please respond and let me know whats going on."
8 hours later:
Shawn: "John whats up man"
Me: "What do you mean whats up, whats up with the faces. you're a hard person to get a hold of" [i send him a screen shot of my unanswered texts]
[No Response]
April 22nd Me: "So could i get an update....."
[No Response}
April 25th Me: "Please find out about my wheel faces and give me a response by tomorrow"
April 26th
Shawn: "Got it!, Well em"
Me: "so are you shipping them out now.." [No Response]

There are so many lies my fingers would bleed typing every single one here so ill try to sum it up with screen shots of the texts/FB Messages continuing in chronological order.

Another Lie, It was very much the gold, not the clear, as you can see in pictures Chipped off pieces and cracks in the plating... Also this random Roger character he's made up.







Needless to say, i was never contacted by his imaginary friends.





Never got any "Partial refund", and everything he says IS, in fact bullshit.











So now he doesn't gold plate.. After telling me on March 18th and May 11th They were done, they were never done.. At this point I've sold the car i had the wheels on, have many other things going on in my life and I just want the peace of mind of having my property back in my possession.



Shawn would not respond to my Facebook messages or texts, but when i would comment about my issues on his instagram photos he would then delete the comments rite away and text me..

















Going on 14 Months and STILL NO FACES!
