Hey guys, as some of you know I am forcing induction into my S14 this friday via an XS engineering turbo kit.
I had a couple of questions before the install is done. I recently had a full tune up and the car is running ok. It seems a little sluggish but this could be due to my rims being so tall.
-Well, 1st question is besides checking the compression and the timing, what other things should I look for.
- Are there any "hot spots" besides the obvious places where the heat shields will be that I should wrap up? Ex. near wires, windshield wiper hoses, etc.
- How many miles will my break in period be considering that I am dropping in both the clutch and the turbo kit at the same time?
- If I wanted to take out my cat back system and put the stock system in for a while, will it only hurt the performance or will it be bad for the turbo too?

Break in for your clutch is 450-500 miles of no revving past 4k rpm.

Wrap up the master or slave cylinder (whatever is closer to the manifold)

Putting the stock exhaust wont hurt the turbo but it will hurt performance a bit, just dont turn up the boost all crazy like when it is on.

So, wait until the catback is back on before I try 6.5 psi?

It shouldnt hurt anything but if its the stock s14 exhaust then I would wait until you get a full catback.

With the XS kit what do you need before you can go past 6.5 psi, and how many psi can you run when you do those mods.

You need to get a reprgrammed ECU from Jim wolf
- 300 zx injectors
- 300zx Fuel pump
- 93 Mustang Cobra MAFS
With this setup the max you can boost is 11psi (or about 300 HP at the crank)
