my car wont start!!! HELP!!!
i jus did a regular ka swap on my car and yesterday wen i tried to start it, the engine was turning over but then it made this really loud grinding noise. wat could it be??? my car is an automatic. could it be the starter isnt bolted on rite????

That's really vague man, can u give us more details?
Did you check the starter? I recall the KA starters being a PITA to get to... seems like u think u know the cause, check it! Mis-aligned starter would definitely make a grinding noise on attempt to turn over, hopefully you didn't try it too much and gnash up the gears... |

the starter on a ka is a PITA to get to. any suggestions on how to make it easier to bolt on?? get it from top or bottom?? i have like 10 diff cuts on both my hands tryna bolt on the starter

The motor mount and X-bar are a pain indeed. I found it best to jack the car as high up as possible, and get to it from underneath. See if you can get a female friend/GF/wife/guy-with-teen-girlie-sized-hands to get the theads started for you. That's the only hard part.
It wasn't so bad for me, as I have hands the size of a japanese schoolgirl. |

i was straining so bad to try and get it bolted. im prolly gonna go, take it off, then try and rebolt it again. it seems like its in rite, but maybe the teeth of the starter isnt aligned wit the torque plate. so ima mess with it somemore and hopefully it werks.
