s14 S15 driveshaft in s14

I am planning on manual swapping my 1997 ABS kouki. It is nearly impossible to find an ABS S14 manual driveshaft. I have gotten myself an S15 ABS manual driveshaft that the owner claimed will fit the KA transmission and will work for the manual swap. Just wanted to verify that an S15 ABS driveshaft will work with ABS s14. I have no idea what year s15 it came from or anything else other that it is an s15 ABS driveshaft.

As long as they’re both either auto or manual, should be the same. Lengths are almost
Identical from s14 to s15 (same lower frame work). Some people report having to trim the boot due to the SR one being longer than KA but don’t know for sure.

As long as the S15 drive shaft is from the 5mt car, it will be the same as the S14 and will work with a KA trans. The turbo models with the 6mt are going to have a different driveshaft that won't mate up with the 5mt trans.

Is there a way to tell the difference? Any way to tell them apart? I have no idea what type of s15 it came out of!

Start off with taking length measurements and go from there. A few threads out there with driveshaft lengths listed.

The part that goes into the trans itself is different also. The 6MT output shaft is 3mm larger than the 5MT. I don't remember the exact size off hand, just know that I had to modify the gear for the speed sensor to fit inside of the S15 6MT (yes I have a functional speedo using 6MT in my S14).

I measured my transmissions yoke and the diameter came out to be roughly 4.55 Inches. the entire length of the driveshaft was roughly 49.3 inches.
