car bogging out at idle

91 240sx hb 234k miles bogging out at idle sometime only it weird. runs perfect otherwise.

dips down then goes up and back down... sometimes it levels out and other times it dies.


im thinking the fuel filter needs replacing
air filter is clogged


what do you think? any recommendations greatly appreciated this is my DD

car is stock btw

check for vacuum leaks
check the air filter

also check spark plugs and wires..
and also check your distributor.and the rotor. it may be damage..mine was and i just fixed it

The fuel filter may very well need a replacement but I doubt that will change the idling problem.
You may need to clean out the throttle intake, lots of exhaust dirtyness can be in there so you may need to clean that out so you're not bogging out.

But do as HS13KLS, spark plugs & wires. May also be your alternator. You don't have a SR20 so I don't know how KA's are. Just my suggestions.

yah sorry guys i swear i posted this up maybe it was 240sx.org


problem was so simple... it ended up being the air filter lol! first thing i thought of and overlooked due to me thinking it wasnt that important!

guess u cant forget the basics.
