Unhappy Trans/Shifter Issue

Has anyone ever had an issue where the shifter itself is stuck all the way left or right? Usually the shifter centers itself when in neutral, but mine is stuck left, BUT is able to be shifted through the gears.

I have a B&M SS and under the plate that mounts the actual shifter to the base there is 2 springs with spacers. One of the spacers is missing. That shouldn't cause it should it?

What kind of screws? Did you put the head on the bottom of the spring with the shaft going up or head on top with the shaft facing down?

Also, what type of screws did you use?
