What are your camber settings? Any fender work? How close to the fender/coilover (assuming you are running them)? I'm guessing atleast a roll in the rear? I'm putting 275 NT05's on the rear of mine and I'll be running 245's up front...

I have on my 1989 S13 hatchback, 17x8.5 +38 RPF1 front with 235/40/17 soon to be 255/40/17 fronts and 275/40/17 NT05 reas on 17x9.5 +38 RPF1s, roll and pull. The 275 NT05s have a lot of sidewall (which I wanted and they are pretty wide), but Nittos tend to run a little smaller than other manufacturers. Their section width is listed at around 10.6 inches. I have had them rub on the fender and on the inside fender well, but now they are aligned for autocross and nothing is rubbing. I don't have the alignment settings on me but I can post them later if desired.

I do want to get 17x10 +18 RPF1s but I know that they wouldn't fit on my car without widebody fenders.

Yessir on the fender work. What size rims are you putting the 245's on in the front?

I have the alignment specs on my photobucket but that site is being janky at the moment. I'll post them later.

(EDIT)Alignment specs after alignment complete:

You'll need a ~5mm spacer in front, most likely, to clear the suspension. And a 275/40 will need some work to clear in back. I'd recommend against such a big stagger, anyway (or any stagger).

18's, however my car is on KW's and will not be dumped on it's ass. I don't care about there being a gap at the top of my tires/wheel wells. I need all the meat I can get on the road for this VVL setup.

What fender work is done? I know one of the guys posted back a few pages was running 18x10 +3x offset and was running very little camber out back fitting some decent meat(275>). I'm not sure what he was running up front though.

e1-griego: Stagger this, stagger that. Porsche Turbo's run 235/305 and have zero issues, then again they do have all the weight hanging off the ass end.

Exactly.

I've run both, I prefer square setup.

Comparing s13 and porsche handling characteristics is lulz.

Oh don't get me wrong, by no means was I comparing, just using it as an example of how extreme the stagger offset was. You can also use the ZR1s 285/335 stagger offset for the sake of arguing. It is as you said though, it is more so a personal preference. However, I wouldn't suggest going out and trying to make skinnies and slicks "handle".

Not me - but it'll work easily.

Your 265/35/18 is only about 1/2" taller than a 285/30/18 (which is what I run up front on my s14 with pulled stock fenders). So it'll fit obviously.

The 265 is more than 1" larger in rolling diameter than the stock s14 size - just make sure you want that much of a difference, as there are some potential cons (wear and tear, etc.)

Front tires don't affect gearing.

Would 265/45/16s fit up front in an s13? They'd be going on 16x9 +0 starion wheels.

I'm wondering what's the widest anyone in this thread has gone up front on an s13.

I have 245's up front on 18x9.5, but I want to try 285's up front.

I have -2.5 camber up front and +8 deg of caster.

It looks like I'll need to tub it a bit for full lock also.

I don't care about fender modding. I have flares to put on, and eventually will pit wide fenders once I can decide on the tire combo.

There has to be somebody running a 275+ up front...

255's are about max you can run on the front of an S14, maybe a 265, but you won't have full lock. Once you start getting into tires that big, partial tubs are a must.

nope, no way, not without being super 4x4. i was running 245/45/16s on 16x9 starions all around. without my flares, fender clearance up front wouldn't happen. full lock had lots of rubbing without bashing out the wheel wells with a BFH. a 265/45 would be wider AND taller, meaning clearance issues everywhere. 25.4" diameter is WAY too tall.

since no one makes 245/45 street tires anymore, i'd suggest either 225/50s all around if you aren't crazy low, or f-225/45 r-225/50 stagger for extra front steering/lowness clearance.

Just bought 9.5 +20 18s all around for my s14. I understand no matter what I will need to roll the front (backs done) and maybe little pull out back. I want to run a square set up and the issue is that 235 40s (easy fit set up) run 10% larger outer diameter than stock while my much preferred 245 35s (unsure of clearance) only run 7%. Does anyone know I can fit the 245s and whats needed?
