I would just like to see how they fit, I was thinking about running the same size and wondered how much I would have to roll or pull the fender

The Previous Goodyear Eagle F1 275/35/18's actually had a ton more clearance vs these drag radials. These are slightly ballooned out from the rim where the Goodyears were square. The inner lip on the quarter panel is rolled completely flat but no pull was done.

Robert

Sure thing, also keep in mind I'm running a retarded high offset compared to most 240 guys. My rear is a 18x10 +38.

Does anyone have photos of 245/40R17s (f) and 275/40R17s (r)?

I just picked up some slicks in this size and will be mounting them on 9.5-inch wheels all around.

Dude, is this going on a 240, a semi truck, a tractor? If it's a 240, is it an S13, S14, S15? Are the fenders stock, rolled, pulled? If pulled how much? How low is the car? Last but not least, what are the wheel specs? Size, width, offset? How are we supposed to tell you if something is going to fit if we don't know what it's fitting on and what setup you are running!?!

Pstl-pete: I am currently running 235 front / 275/40/17 Nitto NT05 setup with only roll and pull. I have 255s to go on the front but have been lazy and haven't mounted them yet, also because I think I will be going widebody very soon.

Damn dude, you are on the warp speed path of building a car.

You should slow down and drive the stupid thing lol.

You don't need widebody for 255s in front, either!

Im on a set of 16x8's, currently running 195/40/16 all around, currently not rolled. Looking to do like a 275-285/40/16 in the rear and like a 235-255/40/16 up-front. Any opinions on this set-up?

Willing to roll/pull, most likely going to have too.

Wait, you want to put a 285 tire on a 8" wheel?

Well It does not have to be that extreme, I'm trying to figure out my limits with an 8" wide wheel in stock s13 wells. Am I more or so limited too 255's or so?

Time to get wider wheels!

You need bigger diameter wheels too. You can't really find even a 255 tire for a 16" wheel unless it's a drag radial, slick etc... let alone a 275 or 285.

Tirerack has a very wide selection of tires. Punch in some tire sizes and see what it comes up with.... this will give you an idea of what is out there or what is not out there.

You need to either decide what size wheel(diameter, width and offset) you want to run then figure out what tire will fit the wheel and car. Or you need to decide what tire you want to run then figure out what wheel will fit it and the car. So if you want to run a 275 then you will want around a 10" wheel with a pretty high offset if you are wanting to run it on stock sheet metal... like a +40 to +44. If you don't mind pulling then you can get down into the +20 area on that same 10" wheel with a 275 tire. This will also depend on how low the car is etc. and how much camber you want to run.

I see so for example, If I went up an inch on the wheel, to a 17, and ran it like 9-10 in wide I can most likely run a 255-275. That being the offset of the wheel would be around +30/+40 or so and pulling/rolling and what not.

Now lets say I wanted to have more of a straight wall rather than a bulge on a 10" wide wheel, I'd go with a 255?

And as for a stretch it would be like a 245?

It depends on the tire, but a 275 is about as square of a size as you can get for a 10" wheel. A 245 on a 10" would be a stretch to me, but not to the stretch guys.... that's nothing to them. Here are some very old pics of my car with 245/40/18 on a 8.5" +32 up front and a 275/35/18 on a 10" +44 out back...

No pics sorry...

Chassis: S14

Current:
Front: 235/35/18 9x18
Rear: 265/35/18 9.75x18

Used to have:
Front: 245/35/18 9x18]
Rear: 275/35/18 9.75x18

I got a good deal on tires so i downgraded, but my next set up will be 255 front and 285 back, should not be a problem since i rand the 245 and 275 set up before rolling the fenders.

Update - Pics below if it helps at all...

This is when i first got the car, with 275 in back, and a 5 or 10mm spacer.

This is how she stands now....

Very clean set-up you have outstanding pictures for every thread haha.

Is that with stock wheel wells? Any rubbing in the fronts on 8.5" with 245s? It looks as if my 8" wides barely at the moment. Kind of tired of driving on 16's personally. I think a 17 this summer season would do better, especially with the roads around here and being on coils.

I scrape all over and I literally have just about the same tire to fender gap that you have in those pictures, just on 16's with a little bit stretch. Bought the wheels local with tires already mounted =\.

I kinda like the idea of 17x10 with a 275 in the rear.
