Thanks! Ordered my AIT kit today, spacers and tires for the 17's, and boxed up my wiring harness and shifter bracket to go out and be modified. I'm a bit tired of wiring at this point, but I still need to do a bit of extending in the chassis harness and wrap and mount it all. A little fab for the radiator, some fuel lines and we'll be ready to rock! Then just to sell these coils and buy some FEAL's, and I'll take the car for it's first alignment. Then it's daily duties and drift events! I'm super stoked!

I have a bunch of parts coming in this week/next week. Once they all get here I'm going to drag it into the garage and thaw it out. Do a bunch of parts installs and test fitting and push it back out, haha.

Haha yeah it's pretty nuts. These 17's should give me a few more degrees actually, I'm sure I'll post another picture or two .

Hahah pretty hard to do a solid donut in a one wheel drive automatic marquis. I have done a few solid transitions and snow bank taps in the work parking lot .

A Poor Man's Dream S13.
I am. I would like to buy a Cor Integration high-angle bar and try that out as well. Don't know when I'll get around to that though, it'll be no front bar for a while.
I have some big updates coming next week. All the pieces of the puzzle should be here...

Okay, time for a decent update. I did some budgeting for the next six months and it looks like I'm going to barely scrape by, I'm trying to pay off some debts I have as fast as possible. So in light of that, I made some decisions that I would have rather not, but I NEED to get on the track this year.
Sold my DGR's to a buddy of mine and got some J2 Engineering coilovers. I know I know, another pair of off-brand coilovers? Sadly yes. These are identical to Isis HR-Pro's and Godspeed Mono-RS but without the knock-off company attached. Like I said, I did what I had to. I actually had to buy shorter Stance 6" 8kg/mm springs for the front because the 7" ones didn't cut it. I also bought an AIT racing aero kit. It's their "D1" Vertex copy. There's another reason I had to do some moving around of my budget. I stumbled across this Carbonetic carbon 2-way for a killer deal from a fellow Zilvian BNIB and had to have it, since it's my dream diff. I got my tires mounted on the 17's and mocked up my seat brackets. Turns out the seat is too wide for the Nagisa brackets, so I'm going to have to do a little fab to make it work. I also sent out my VQ and KA wiring harnesses to a fellow Zilvian so I didn't have to mess with them in my freezing cold garage. On to the photo dump. Federal's really do run wide. These "205"s fit more like 225's... Finally got it in the garage and test fitted the front bumper. Finally! A proper ride height without tons of spring droop. Shadow makes it look higher than it is here:

A Poor Man's Dream S13.
Meh. Front bumper is pretty decent. The rest all needs trimming and it all needs some smoothing. I'll be buying something else next time. You get what you pay for.

Diff is the business! Will be looking for a LSD ( maybe nismo ) to throw in my Z pumpkin in the next year or so. Someone has to want my VLSD.
Still blown away by the front knuckle/arm setup you're running. Good shit all around. Glad to hear you put a rush on the harness. GET THIS THING RUNNING! |

Thanks man! Your FD build is pretty killer as well. Hopefully some updates soon, I really want to fit the kit now and see what the whole car looks like. The springs sagged the perfect amount in the front since the pictures.

Mr. Poorman, how is the wiring coming along? the last update on the wires, i saw you needed plugs. which ones did you need? i might be able to cut out the ones off the mini harness and the main and just solder my light connector on and could send you the oval shaped ones if those are the ones you need. PM me your number and we can talk..
build looks good so far man!! -Jimmy |
