do you know how to paint? it's really easy.
In a nutshell you would do the same to paint them. the faded surround on kouki tail lights is actually on the outside. There was a restoration article I had found very detailed for kouki tails and shared it with clearcorners mike. The spray that was used was similar to vht interior spray. It's not sealed and that's why kouki tails fade after years in the sun. If you know how to use a paint gun, mix up the colors, if you want to tint after the fact thin the black paint out, let it dry and wet sand each layer, then it all comes down to the sealing process. You can do it quick and cheap or you can put some time into it, or you can just buy new lights. |

I explained it a few posts after the original post but what I did was wetsand the lights with 600 to 1000grit and then cleaned and degreased them very well then I sprayed a candy red coat on the orange blinker and reverse lights (no masking, just feather it in to the surrounding area). After that I masked off all of the lenses with fineline tape and masking tape and hit the area that was grey with nissan super black basecoat through an HVLP gun. Then I unmasked the lenses and shot everything with 2 wet coats of automotive clearcoat also through a paint gun. Y'all probably know I do the hydrodipping and hid retrofits for people but I can refinish and tint taillights and blinkers corner lights etc. pm me if you need help. Just don't ask me to do LED retrofits because It's way too tedious!

^here's a decent how-to for the faded tail lights. Was going to do this when I paint some other pieces I have. |

I question the durability of any 1k aerosol product long term when exposed to UV radiation and the elements... I'd only use automotive paint products and 2k clearcoat personally.
