ha, i would like to go 260's... but i i dont feel like upgrading my entire valve train to be safe. im super conservative anyway, so i dont rev my shit to the max except on rare occassions anyway. found a another set of the pon cams for mad cheap anyway maybe. like half price son! we will see. if these fall through ill start looking for 260's i guess

if im not mistaking...and i could be
hks offers a 264 step 1 that u dont need a valve train upgrade for... maybe rocker arm stoppers, but those are cheap now. ISIS makes a set for $49.99

I was just going to suggest them. Chris ordered his through them for like 1100 with out a waste gate. How long untill your set up is in the car?

Oh and why not just run the internal waste gate with an HKS actuator?

Also its not really the duration that bothers the valve train its the lift. Tomei 260's (11.2mm) have a smaller lift vs the 254 (11.5mm) so you could run those easy. Also HKS Step ones (256/264) run a mild lift as well so stock valve train will be fine as long as you keep it at the stock rev limit.

thanks for the info dan, and yea im not trying to increase my rev limit. i was planning to have the set-up in over the christmas holidays, but if i get everything soon enough maybe over thanksgiving break.

ill keep an eye out for those other two variations. BC are the only cams that need the adjustable Cam gears correct?

I'd ask chris about the BC's. I've never looked into them as a viable option. The only thing I'd really buy from them is there valve springs and retainers.

I'm sure someone in this thread has usefull info on the cams though.

BC Cams have been known to need degreeing for tuning.... So unless you or someone knows how to do that, don't use BC cams. Upgrading valve train I think is a must with bigger lift CAMs IMHO... Its not that expensive for parts and any machine shop who works on heads can do it.... Pon cams, are supposedly no need to upgrade springs, but Pro Cams and Steps 2's for sure....

I think BC's are the only ones...

I thought HKS made one for it? The one you linked to already has a decent one on there.

Caps should be labled, but if the journals are trashed then I wouldnt use it. S13 heads are only 100-200$ or so on TR. I think it might be worth looking into.

The one for the RS style compressor housing, but not for this one. (I actually have one :-P) ...2 rather (T25 and T28 HKS units)

The actuator on it is one that was modified by the previous owner. I'm confident it might work, but I want something produced to work.

I agree. Power was great and response was awesome!

I had Gt2535 turbo set up on my redtop s13 and made 287whp & 283 torque; pretty much maxed out the turbo at 1.2-1.3 bars

-550cc injector
-hks 256 cams
-n62
-sard fpr
-skyline fuel pump
-greddy ras
-stock bottom end & head gasket
-tune with a apexi neo at Smoothlinez (9828 Alpaca st., South El Monte, Ca)

Go without cams, then get quality valvetrain stuff later, or do it right the first time, some ferreras and JWT cams

It came with one modified to work.

My issue is that the rod pushes on the arm at an angle rather than strait.

what about the GT2876R turbo? ive been reading up on everything about the GT2871r but what about the 76r? a lot of the people in this thread want to achieve 400whp with so many mods towards the 71r and only achieve between 300-380whp. i want to achieve 400whp DD on a built redtop. im wondering if i can use the 76r and make 400 easier?
