pecial Counsel Robert Mueller has so far indicted 34 people and three companies as part of his probe into allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

Among them are five former Trump officials, all of whom have pleaded guilty to criminal charges, and 26 Russian nationals.

Trump’s former attorney and fixer Cohen pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal last week to lying to Congress over a planned Trump Organization real estate project in Moscow.

Cohen told a federal judge in Manahattan that he had spoken more extensively with Trump about the project than he had admitted to Congress in testimony last year, with conversations extending to June 2016.

In August, Cohen admitted as part of a plea deal to campaign finance violations in relation to hush money payments made to two adult entertainers who claim they had affairs with Trump, as well as tax evasion and bank fraud crimes. These offenses were intially investigated by Mueller, but were handed off to the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York.

A former foreign policy adviser with the Trump campaign, Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to investigators in October 2017 about people who he believed were working on behalf of Russians. He was sentenced to 14 days in prison in August.

In April 2016 Papadopoulos met with Maltese Professor Joseph Mifsud, who said he could put Papadopoulos in touch with Russians who had dirt of Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump's rival during the 2016 presidential election. Papadopoulos went on to have further contact with the professor, who brokered meetings between Papadopoulos and two Russian nationals.

Paul Manafort

Manafort served as chairman of Trump’s presidential campaign, and was charged in October 2017 with tax and bank fraud, false statements, being an unregistered agent of a foreign power, and obstruction of justice.

The charges stemmed from Manafort's work as a lobbyist for Ukrainian politicians and the Ukrainian government, and his bid to conceal his role and the money he made.

He initially fought the charges, and in August was convicted in Virginia on eight counts of fraud. The jury though could not reach a consensus verdict on ten of the 18 counts. He will be sentenced in February.

He accepted a plea deal with Mueller in September, pleading guilty to conspiring to defraud the U.S. and conspiring to obstruct justice. But in November the deal fell apart and the FBI said Manafort had breached the plea bargain and lied to them.

An associate of Manafort and former campaign adviser to Trump, Gates pleaded guilty in February to financial fraud and lying to the FBI as part of a plea deal with Mueller.

Gates in August testified at Manafort's trial, saying that he and Manafort had run an elaborate network of offshore accounts and shell companies where they chanelled their lobbying cash, and admitted to stealing from Manafort to fund a lavish lifestyle and extramarital affair.

Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty last December to lying to the FBI about his contact with Russia’s ambassador to the United States.

In December 2016, Flynn had spoken with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak about new sanctions imposed on Russia by the outgoing Obama administration, and about a planned UN Security Council vote condemning Israeli settlements. He admitted lying to the FBI about the content of his discussions with Kislyak.

On Tuesday, Mueller recommended that Flynn serve no jail time for the offence, revealing that Flynn had cooperated extensively with FBI agents on three ongoing investigations.

Russian Nationals

In July, 12 members of the Russian GRU military intelligence agency were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, identity theft, conspiracy to launder money.

The charges related to the hacking of emails from DNC servers in June 2016, which were then leaked online in a bid to damage Clinton's campaign.

The Russian government has denied the accusations.

A further 13 Russian nationals and three related companies had been indicted in February on charges of conspiracy to defraud the U.S., conspiracy to commit bank fraud, identity theft.

The charges relate to Russia’s use of “troll farms” to spread propaganda and disinformation during the 2016 campaign, with the notorious Internet Research Agency and two companies created to finance it singled out in the indictment.

Among those charged was Yevgeny Prigozhin, the alleged financier of the operation and member of Russian President Vladimir Putin's inner circle, who runs a network of catering and restaurant businesses.

Mueller has also charged several individuals not employed by the Trump campaign.

Sam Patten

A lobbyist who has worked with Manafort, Patten in August pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal to failing to register as an agent of a foreign power.

Konstantin Kilimnik

A Russian army-trained linguist and former associate of Manafort, Kliminik was charged in June with obstruction of justice.

Alex van der Zwaan

An attorney who worked with Manafort and Gates, van der Zwaan pleaded guilty in February to lying to investigators about conversations with Gates, and was sentenced to 30 days in prison in April.

California resident Pinedo pleaded guilty to identity fraud in April 2018, after selling bank accounts opened using fraudulent information online to Russians. He was jailed for six months in October.

On 15 June 2017, a post circulate claiming via social media asserting that police officer Crystal Griner (who had been wounded during the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise one day earlier) was a lesbian, and she risked her life to save a man who was opposed to her own marriage:



The post maintained that Griner (a lesbian) saved Scalise (an opponent of LGBT rights), and ended with a “that’s right, haters” message.

Although elements of the post are accurate, on the whole it left out a lot of context and a complex backstory involving Griner, Bailey, their jobs, and the shooting incident.

It is true that Griner is married to another woman, an incidental detail reported by gay publication Washington Blade:

Capitol Police Officer Crystal Griner — a lesbian in a same-sex marriage — was among those wounded during a shooting this week in the Virginia suburbs and received a visit from President Trump during his trip to the hospital to see the victims.

Griner was among the five people shooter James T. Hodgkinson wounded during an incident at the Republican congressional baseball practice. On the House floor, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) praised her as one of the officers who saved lives during the shooting where House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was badly wounded.

According to CBS News, Griner and Special Agent David Bailey rushed Hodgkinson despite their own wounds. After being shot in the ankle, she was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for recovery.

Furthermore, both Griner and Bailey are black, and in the days after the shooting a quote attributed to Scalise describing himself as “David Duke without the baggage” re-entered the news cycle. Although that quote, too, was often presented in a facile manner, Scalise had come under fire for his purported links to white supremacist groups:

[Scalise has] admitted to giving a speech to white supremacists.

In 2002, Scalise spoke to the European Unity and Rights Organization, a group led by Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK. “He told me he was like David Duke without the baggage,” Stephanie Grace, a long-time political reporter, told The New York Times in 2014 of her first meeting with Scalise. “I think he meant he supported the same policy ideas as David Duke, but he wasn’t David Duke, that he didn’t have the same feelings about certain people as David Duke did.” While Scalise admitted to the speech, he later claimed he didn’t know their cause was white supremacy.

Griner and Bailey were rightly hailed for averting what could have been a massacre, nut the pair were not merely responding officers acting in a moment of spontaneity; they were specifically assigned to protect Scalise as part of his security detail:

A mass shooting during a congressional baseball practice could have been a full-blown “massacre,” Congress members say. Instead, two special agents put their lives on the line, potentially saving dozens of others.

Capitol Police officers Crystal Griner and David Bailey are special agents on Rep. Steve Scalise’s security detail. Scalise was standing near second base in an Alexandria, Virginia park when the bullets began flying from behind the third base dugout, striking Scalise. While Scalise dragged himself to safety, Griner and Bailey lept into action. In an extended firefight, the two agents took down shooter James Hodgkinson while battling through injuries of their own. Both were taken to the hospital after the gunfight, and are recovering from their injuries, officials say …

Most congress members do not have their own security details. But high-ranking officials like Scalise, the House Majority Whip, are assigned security teams.

Had Scalise not been present at the early-morning practice, neither Griner and Bailey would have been on the scene to intervene:

If Scalise hadn’t attended with his security detail, lawmakers said, many of their colleagues likely would have been slaughtered by Hodgkinson.

“Our lives were saved by the Capitol Police. Had they not been there I think it would have been a massacre,” Sen. Rand Paul said on CNN after the shooting. “The field, I mean, was basically a killing field.” But the Capitol Police officers weren’t the only ones credited with saving lives during the shootout.

Despite Rep. Scalise’s reported proximity to white supremacists during his political career (Scalise clarified that he disavowed any such ideology in 2014), friends said Bailey was devoted to his duty of protecting Scalise:

“[Bailey] definitely takes his job very seriously. He works really hard and is committed to keeping the Whip safe and to serving,” [friend Danielle] Carpenter told The Daily Beast. “He is a leader in all ways. He is one of the best guys I’ve ever met—is kind to everyone and always makes sure that everyone feels safe and taken care of. Dave is really proud of his Brazilian and Jamaican heritage and you can tell he would do anything for family. He considers Congressman Scalise and his family as his own, so it is no surprise that he would make any sacrifice necessary to keep Whip Scalise safe.”

I'd vote for a $10 per paycheck tax just to build the Wall. Mexico will be paying once their people revolt since they can't escape anymore. They will be paying as they see a reduction in Western Union transfers. And they'll likely be paying since the new NAFTA rules will not be as favorable.

Trump never promised they'd write a check if you want to play the semantics game.

I also don't see you crying about Obama promising to keep your doctor or reduce premiums.

The US was waging war, and the housing market crashed due greedy bankers because of laxed banking regulation and the SEC turning a blind eye. I would LOVE to see you explain how Obama created the recession PRIOR to him becoming president.

Bail out Auto Manufacturers, not upset the banking industry and somehow stimulate the economy, all while having to deal with a war the US essentially started in the middle east (go read about Operation Cylone; Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) program to arm and finance the mujahideen, in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989, prior to and during the military intervention by the USSR ).

I would love how you explain a way a war (for example) Obama started when he was 18 years old and still in school or the banking industry which began unscrupulous practices well before the 2008 crash (essentially began a decade prior to 2008, so 10 years prior to Obama's reign).

No one has claimed it will stop all drugs, all illegal immigration and cure cancer. The fact that it can't do all that and give out free blowjobs does not mean it should not be built.
