Exactly. But really, I work in a dealer and have replaced many of them. They're replacing them all because they have the possibility to rust and become brittle in certain climates. Look it up, none have deployed spontaneously. Not saying an airbag inflator is something to shrug off.

Considering they have about 4000psi packed into a test-tube sized container... Think about what kind of damage would be caused by a car driving on the highway with a spontaneous explosion or airbag deployment. LOL that would be crazy. The driver/passenger could be seriously injured, they could go flying into other cars or pedestrians or businesses. The lawsuits would be astronomical, they'd destroy takata entirely.
