Sweet build man just wondering how missions it was to do the carpet dying. I've read that you need to reeeeally scrub the carpets clean before you soak them otherwise the dye goes on uneven.

Which rails are you using for the brides? Do you carry passengers in the back? I've always wondered how difficult it would be for passengers to get into the back seats with two fixed buckets up front.

Yeah, I have no back seats, but there is no way you are sitting in there, unless its through the trunk. I am running a 225/40/18 on a 18x9.5 wheel.

Wow, lot's has changed since then.

- Ditched the kit and switched to all OEM 180SX aero.
- Got some badass knuckles made for my car + s14 LCA + ikeya formula inner tie rods
- Got a 180SX diff
- Went drifting
- Placed 3rd in Streetwise Drift AM event
- Got rid of my fake wheels and got a set of 17x9 +12 Gramlight 57D's
- Now I'm trying to make it look cooler and make more power

Love the wheels! I didn't put the stickers on either, (they clash with the red paint)

Very nice. Was thinking of using carpet dye as well. Wanted to know how durable is it and have you done it before?

Pictures on the first post aren't working for me. But the rest of the build is looking good! Lower that rear again lol!

It worked out great. The carpet dye is still holding up strong a year later.

Thanks! I need to fix all the links, as they are indeed dead. I may lower the rear, I raised it all around after I got the knuckles installed, but there was really no need for that. We will see!

Tips,

Get the stuff from Walmart, it's super cheap. It'll be in the laundry dept I believe, NOT in the arts and crafts!
- Wear gloves or you will end up with dyed hands
- Less water = higher concentration of the dye, I would go a little under the instructions ratios in terms of water. This will make the dye darker
- Buy like 3 bottles just to be sure, they are dirt cheap. Make sure your carpet is vacuumed and go to down with the spray bottle and and do like 3-4 coats of the dye. Let it dry over night minimum. Mine was a little "crunchy" at first but quickly was broken in and it feels like OEM. I'm a big fan of it.

So, it's been a LONG LONG time since I have updated this thread. Lot's has happened! Here is a rough overview

2014: Drifted a bunch more. Kept having issues breaking my axles. Vinyl wrapped the car to see what the fuss was all about. Tore off the vinyl. Bought overfenders. Sold my OEM Kouki skirts and rear valences. Bought G-Grow skirts and rear. Painted the car RED. Sold the gram lights. Bought new wheels. Bunch of drift events.

Enrolled in a new degree and changed my career completely! Put the car on hold most of the year. Enjoyed saving money for a while.

2015: Decided to sell the S14 SR20 setup.
- Bought a 2JZ-GTE VVTi motor. Swapped it in.
- Quickly realized OEM ECU sucks with a single. Sold the OEM ECU and injectors.
- Bought MegaSquirt 3 PRO and ID1000CC's.

So much more, but I'll be slowly dumping in pieces of the build into the post.

Here is a teaser:

Here is a little video. Still need to get a tune, still need to enable VVTi. Love how this motor sounds and feels!
