I wired up my boost gauge today, but now when I turn the car on, it dies. Vacuum leak?

Possibly, but doubtful. Sure you hooked it all back up?

Older after market units certainly have shitty radio reception, regardless of brand or quality. Either way, I don't listen to much radio in the car as it is, so the USB made sense for highway usage.

In regard to hitting it, it's not really in the way where it is. Cords are like 5-10 bucks online or even at Best BUy or similar.

Did you bleed the system and adjust the pedal properly? Try that first and see how it works.

WTF is wrong with being a purist?

I mean I understand the concept behind it, I just personally dont like what V8's have done to drifting.
Im a purist in the form and function of my cars yes. But I am also a purist in the sense that I think people should learn how to drift using the proper techniques instead of just throwing power and torque at it.

what is wrong with using raw power??? lol,

The reason most people hate v8's is that reason. its alot easier. But wtf a stock dual cam ka with right lsd/ suspension is enough. when the motor runs right anyways.

S15 would be OBD-II, as well as pretty much anything after 96

Yup. I first tried doing it with that dumb box that is on the s13. I can't remember exactly what it is, but useless. It wouldn't bleed with that. bypassed it and then I finally got it bled. I even did it 2 other times after that to make sure. Still the same.

does the JDM OEM headlights for koukis bolt right on to USDM koukis? or do you need other wire harness for the bulbs/lamps to get the headlights working?

oil shot out from my motor just now, i know the problem and fixed it but the car was running for about 45 seconds - 1 minute MAX just pouring oil out. After i realized i immediately shut it off. Very little oil/pretty much nothing in the pan

How bad can the damage be? The oil, what ever came out of it, seemed to be pretty fine - fresh oil so if there was debris it was from the motor just then.

I don't have another s chassis to look at so here's my question..
Where does the big ground from the main harness connect to? I did the battery tray but once I connect the battery it'll start smoking.
Boo I have no friends.

Just picked up a 1.5 way, besides taking it in for it to be checked. Any way i can see if its worn out or needs a rebuild?

If im switching it from an s14 to s13 casing should i still take it in for pre load & back lash adjustment?

That sounds kinda gnar. Where was the oil coming from? What was the previous problem? Could be a very bad gasket leak or cracked oil pan, somewhat easy repairs (if you know what youre doing)

it was pretty awful, like a black explosive diarrhea coming from my car

It was cause my sandwich plate was seated wrong, there was a gap and when the pressure built up it just squirted like a porn star.

I just wanna know the severity of the damage, which i'm almost positive it isnt much

Clean it up real good and throw a new o-ring/gasket on it. No harm no foul. As long as it didn't run for long on minimal oil your straight

Edit: hope you werent doing any ricer revs lol. As long as it was just idling it should be fine... My buddy forgot his oil cap when we added a quart to his KA once, didnt realize until his 'oil pressure' light started winking a few miles down the freeway.. Oil was everywhere all over the bay and shit, cleaned it up and topped it off it still ran fine. Use brand name oil and make sure it's flushed. Keep a close eye on all fluid levels. Let It idle and make sure rpm's/temp gauge is all normal, then forget about it.

yeah naw dude it was chilling outside my garage and i noticed very frequent oil drops from when i pulled it out, nearly shat myself when i saw it lol. I'll be monitoring the pressure via some better gauges as well as oil temp. RPMs were a tad bit on the high side but i wouldn't doubt thats cause i fucked with IACV 3 days ago haha, i also have an alternator problem so w.e

Thank you for the help, i was worried

why dont you just swap the inner workings and not have to deal with any axel changing or anything, shit the differential is already out, its like 20 more bolts and done...

So I finally got running my rebuilt sr20. After the first drive, it couldn't keep an idle. I did the following:

-Check for vacuum leaks, reads 20 inHg at idle
-Check for boost leaks, none
-Check TPS voltage, .45-.5 volts at idle/acc on
-Redid timing, timing is good
-Cleaned iacv, helped kinda
-Checked iacv if it was bad
-Adjusted iacv, helped a bit
-checked maf, nothing
-checked coilpacks and sparkplugs, nothing
-checked injectors, nothing
-swapped fuel pump to walbro and put a new z32 fuel filterm nothing

Now, the car doesn't hold an idle when its cold. When its warm, its fine. Bad coolant temp sensor? Thats the only thing I can think of. I have ordered it and should be here by Friday.

At what point do you think valve springs are needed in a build? Or what stage/level cams usually require them??

Having an impossible time trying install the fuel tank o-ring. Not sure how it fit in there before I disassembled everything, but its diameter is much larger than that of the seat it is supposed to fit in.
Is there any trick to this? Would freezing it shrink it enough?
