Just got my Gktech shipment in. Engine mounts, trans mount, brake master cylinder brace, axle spacers, clutch pivot ball, steering rack bushings, and of course, a clutch fan. Getting really hyped to have an engine, chassis, and suspension setup without any major weak points.

I also ordered a bunch of boring shit like gaskets today. I did find and order these fender braces I found though, they're new to the market and the only ones for S13's I've seen that don't mess with tire clearance or trying to tuck the factory wiring. They're from Garage Star.

Well shit. I didn't know. Guess I won't be mentioning their name again hah.

Paint prep sucks, especially when you're going to use rattlecans because you just need some level of corrosion protection.

So today I transferred the rear subframe from the orange car to the red car. I'm beginning to realize that I'm essentially building a pro-am car without the cage hah.

Rear ride height seems okay. I'm hoping the springs settle a little bit.

I acquired what I assumed was a welded diff from a friend. He gave it to me as it came in a subframe he had bought from someone and it was extra. Popped the cover off it to make sure the welds were up to par and...

It's actually a Kaaz 2-way. What a score! Gotta send some spare output shafts out to be modified for 350z axles and this thing should be rock solid.

Bunches of parts coming in the mail. I'm hyped.

Thanks!

Picked up a set of four KMC Hot wheels 17x9+whatever, hoping to use them for drift spares. Not a chance they'll fit on the rear with wisefab (zero camber) so here's to hoping they fit on the front with Origin 50mm.

OEM fan shroud, timing chain tensioner, Flying Miata inconel turbo studs, and all the engine gaskets came in as well. Fun stuff.

Got my parts from Taarks/EFI solutions. They actually ship pretty quickly given they're in Australia.

Bosch pressure/temp sensors for fuel and oil, the fittings to adapt them to the AN lines, and a screw in timing chain squirter for the block.

I literally order all my SR parts from Taarks and they are not only cheaper (exchange rate) but also get here faster than some stateside distributors...

Yeah, Taarks is the jam!

Stock manifold, EFR 6258. I'm hoping to make 350whp on E85. Maybe someday I'll buy cams and such and it could do 400+whp.

Just ordered this crossmember from Team Hanging Loose. Since I no longer have easy access to a welder, I didn't want to buy a DIY kit, and having a whole new member sounds nice. My own attempt at moving the rack forward earlier in this thread I also wasn't a fan of. I'll need to modify it for bash plate/splitter mounting, but hopefully it works/fits well. Didn't want the Street Faction kit as it only allows moving the rack forward 25mm. Not sure why everyone wants to raise the LCA mounting without raising the rack mounting.

Definitely over complicating things again... Luckily everything is now ordered for the car so it's just a waiting game/continuing to put it back together as parts come in.

Pretty wild how flat the wisefab is at a fairly low ride height. Unfortunately this is as low as the car goes. It does look like this is +1.5 camber right now though, so I'll have to dial that out, hopefully it'll tuck a bit more tire then.

Did some sanding and some spot primering so the bay looks less crusty. Lots more work to do

LOL, not sure why I thought the coilovers didn't go lower, they definitely do. Camber is very close to zero now and the car has achieved my ideal ride height for the rear.

Dude seriously. I'm still waiting for all my parts to come in at my local shop that I paid for a month ago, meanwhile parts from quite literally across the world are here in my hands. Sheesh.

Haha, sadly they may go to someone else. I had a guy ask if I wanted to sell them, and they're not super ideal for my setup. We'll see.

More parts dump. Got my Canton pan in, which I'm pretty pumped on.

Also got my Rife pressure sensor for the coolant, and their fast reaction IAT, which is pretty neat and aesthetic.

I got an Xcessive steel skid plate, and it's beefy. Forgot to take pictures of it though.

I've decided to take my head to the machine shop for a valve job. Since everything else is going to be perfect I might as well make sure the head doesn't let me down. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, but a few valves failed the water test. Before I decided to go so ham on this thing I was just going to try and lap them in but MEHHH.

Man I was just looking through your post of the engine. This engine totally reminded me of my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT engine that took a dump. I really don't understand why people have to half-ass things. I'm glad to see that you're putting in work and making this engine epic.

With the head at the machine shop thats a good chance to do new valves and have them cut/matched so that all the rocker guides are the same size. Or lash is the same across them all with dual guides etc.

Yeah I'm hoping they're as functional as they are aesthetic, hah.

It's wild right? Like just do it right.

If I went with new valves they would have to be Ferrea, and that's a chunk of change I don't want to spend right now. The stock valves will be cut. I will most likely have them tipped as well to set lash.

Went with +1mm valves aswell
+1mm valves require a throat cut, and that's just eating more money up that I want to spend on tires and gas hah. If I had the kelford cams I want to put in this thing, I would consider doing cryo and WPC treatments, but alas I do not. Future things.

Stupid question time unrelated to your post, well mostly. The larger washers I purchased for my ARP swag, the internal beveled edge goes up towards the nut correct? That’s how I believe it is suppose to go so you get most surface area on the material you’re trqing down.
