I think 215/40s and 225/40s would be a better choice.
Or if you want a little more tire 225/40s and 235/40s. I wouldn't run a 225/35 on 18s unless you plan on laying the car on the ground.

Well, I guess for reference on a generic tire height chart I have:
215/40/17 = 23.77" 215/45/17 = 24.62" 215/40/18 =24.77" 215/35/18 = 23.93" 225/35/18 =24.20" 225/40/18 =25.09" Obviously the heights will be different depending on the tire brand and the width of the wheel you put it on. I have personally always liked the look of a 225/40 on a 9" wheel. If you want your wheels/tires to be generally the same size of what you have now I guess you want to run a 215/35 and a 225/40 (since that will be stretched a whole lot more then the 215s will be). I would still run 40 series all around though.

ThatS14Guy - you don't need more spacer, you need more tire, the wheel is poking from your fender, the problem you have is your tire is more stretched then it needs to be. The spacer will "fix" the problem but it will just make the wheel even more poked and you'll have a flush tire. My friend Nick's S14: 17X9 +5/+0 215/45 all around.
