5 lug hubs from ebay
i was wondering if anyone had any experiences with these 5 lug hubs from ebay?
eBay Motors: Silvia 240SX S14 95-98 5 Lug Conversion Hub New Front (item 140299446772 end time Mar-06-09 20:54:24 PST) looks like a good price and he/she uses oem bearings. meijiperformancethat's his screen name on ebay. looks like a pretty tempting thing to buy seeing as how you can get both front and rears for about $300 shipped. opposed to paying like 300 for only a front pair from nissan. let me know your experiences with this if you have any! wanna know b4 i shoot some money off into it. thanks ^_^ |

Recently, I found a pizza place near my house that sells extra large pizzas for 7 bucks. So I tried it. And you know what? It was DELICIOUS. Better than the extra large you get from Pizza Hut which 15+ dollars.
Another example: Coco's has a turkey croissant sandwich on their menu for about 9 bucks. I tried it, and it sucked. Lee's has the same sandwhich, but way the fuck tastier, for only 4 bucks. Point is... Value is everything. Yes, "you get what you pay for" does apply in some situations, but not ALL situations. There are still bargins to be had for quality products, even in the automotive world. I wouldn't mind trying out these hubs. I bet they're safer than drilling 4 more holes into my stock 4 lug hubs. |

Hm...that actually looks pretty good. I would actually...consider buying that. i mean, as long as it fits and its strong? that's all you need. The studs might be shitty that's all. I don't know. 160 is kinds expensive. If you were to get them from nissan, what would you order them from? 300 zx n/a??

I bought some off ebay, mine work fine except that 1 stud was missing and that hole was bigger than the others so I still have to find a stud that fits.

except thats its just FUCKING DEFECTIVE. Who the fuck pays money for something that has a missing stud and the bore isnt drilled properly? jesus... its your wheel bearing, NOT AN ITEM YOU WANT TO SKIMP ON. I love it, I can just see some douchebag sitting at his PC saying "man... this 4-lug shit sucks, my life sucks. I cant fit anything hardcore in 4-lug. I'm going 5-lug, but I'm going to do it budget-style... and once i'm 5-lug, I'm gonna drop some MAJOR coin on some badassed 5-lug wheels... like rotas, or better yet... SPORTMAX! fuck yeah" buying these hubs with a missing stud where the bore was drilled incorrectly is like going out with a dick who just happens to have a dick. no, its not good and no, its not acceptable under any fucking circumstance. if you're broke, go pull some parts off of a Z32 NA or S14 SE, period. edit: my favorite thing about fly-by-night sellers, regardless if they are on ebay or anywhere else.. shit like this: Item location: Fast Shipping, United States wtf? thats not a location, thats bullshit. i hate sellers that have no location, no phone, no address.. nothing. your hub flies off? fuck you, thats what they tell you. at least when you buy from someone who has a shop, location, address... you can sue the fucker. good luck suing someone who lives on mars. |

Compared to the alternatives i guess that is fairly inexpensive. what are you going to do about calipers and adapters to fit the caliper on? I'm looking do do this myself, wondering where your gonna get that stuff from.

Will have to be drilled or you will have to get rotors from an s14, i don't know what fits. I assumed he was doing a full R32/z32 brake conversion.

Go for it.
I dont see how they differ from buying reman./oe replacment brake and suspension parts from a parts house. Seeing as how thats what those are without going through one of the middle men without a "brand" printed onto the box. Hubs from napa r wayyyy cooler tho lol. |

to me they look legit,
im not sure on the strength of mild steel for wheel hubs, but we use them for strapping our frames, and it seems to hold up. in the description they say they use OEM nissan bearings, they meet factory specs, and there cnc machined. with that it seems like they are pretty strong. im thinking about picking up a set, does anyone else have any feedback on these? |

If not just contact Panda Garage. They got full sets (all 4 for you layman out there) for 400 bucks. But then again, I do not trust ebay for jack shit.

i've bought and sold those hubs before... i had to warranty a few sets.
one of them the bearing blew out ASAP and on another set the actual hub cracked. this was on a pretty serious LS1 S13 but that shouldnt really matter.... these things WILL break... hopefully its just the bearing though and you can replace that with an OEM grade one that costs like $150 each. |
