here's a pic of the diff. the axles are the same 6-bolts as any other 240 (not in picture but they are included). shipping to pretty much anywhere in the US is about $50.

The speed sensor is in the side of the transmission. You prolly are thinking of the abs sensor.

i believe it's an s15 pumpkin, which should bolt right into the s13/s14 chassis. it was pulled off of an s15 in japan a few months back.

most of the people that replied are skeptical of what is really in there. Anyone could do what you did with an open diff. The only way to convince people is to open up the back cover and take pics of the internals.

That can't be an s15 pumpkin...it would have the speed sensor.

Sounds like you don't know what you have. I suggest you buy a new gasket and pull the cover off to see what's inside.

look guys i'm not trying to be a jackass. had i KNOWN earlier that the prices were marked down for locals, i would NOT have tried to turn a profit on this. nowhere on the ads did it mention that he was marking prices down for us, only that we were getting first dibs on everything. and honestly, judging by the pricing on everything else, it really didn't seem marked down to me. i wouldn't call $220 for an s13 vlsd a deal at all. regardless, i wasn't trying to take advantage of anyone, i just simply thought that dewey wanted to sell his stuff and get it out, which i would have been happy to do. the fact that i buy and sell parts is of little consequence. if i stumble on a good deal, even if it's a part i don't need, i'm going to buy it, then resell. that's not a dick move, it's business. if you wish to call me out on that, you're calling out practically every resell business ever in existence. other than that, since i truly wasn't aware of the whole "markdown" thing, i really don't understand why my motive seems "dickish." adam and andy, i understand that you guys really dislike me, but calling me out on something that i was completely oblivious to seems a little unjustified.

It has more to due with the fact that what you stated and the picture you posted did not match. The price you posted is not a rip off or is it the best price I have seen. I would consider it decently priced. There is nothing wrong in reselling a product to make a profit. It is just the fact that you said it was one thing but it turns out to be something else.
The spec R came with the helical and the regular s15 came with viscous. Also, as already stated, the s15 uses a sensor on the diff to read the speed of the vehicle. Judging by the pics, it doesn't really look like a s15 helical.

and i sincerely apologize for that. selling on margin sometimes causes things like this to happen, and is the reason that i try to avoid it. for this and this alone i am guilty. that was the picture in the sale thread, and i specifically asked if it was a helical, to which the seller replied "yes." since all of the diffs (he had an assortment of lsds) were priced equally, i just figured the guy wanted them out of there, so i planned to go pick it up today until i didn't have time, then found out about the price deflation. like i said, it is definitely my fault that i didn't go and pick up the diff before i posted it, but other than that, circumstances taken into account i don't see anything else wrong with my actions.

Selling a product for a profit that you dont even own is not right. It would have been different if you had purchased it from him, then took your own pictures, and posted it for sale.

you are absolutely right. i got caught up in the prospects and made a bad decision. sometimes it happens. probably won't ever happen again. nonetheless, the accusations being made don't even pertain to that aspect of the situation. i'm not trying to justify my position, because it isn't justifiable. only it's because of this reason, and not the ones mentioned by others, that i believe i am guilty.

A very convenient lawyerly response. The term, Devil's Advocate comes to mind.
The man you wanted to buy that from was doing you and everyone in our area a very gracious service, by selling his parts at a low price to keep us moving and you slap him in the face with greed..I'm sorry.."BUSINESS".
Take your "BUSINESS" elsewhere and stop exploiting the people who help you. Local or not.

did you honestly read anything that i wrote? or for that matter talk to andy? i had absolutely NO idea that prices were marked down. i could copy the ad here, but it'd be a waste of space and you can get on and read it for yourself if you want. it didn't mention any sort of price cut or deal for stl guys, just stated the part and price. so pardon me if i didn't read the minds of those who knew better.
