s14 1996 harness and 1995 throttle body
Hello guy, need some help figuring some stuff out !!!!!!
I have been working on getting this 1995 s14 running, I used my old s13 kade as donor car, it had a s14 motor in it. so i swapped everything back to s14, distributor, intake manifold, etc. the original 1995's harness was pretty horrible, wires were burned and rotten. Best i could at the moment was get a hold of 1996 harness in pretty good shape. I worked on the car over the weekend and got the motor in, tranny bolted up. im was feeling pretty damn close to get the car running, then i ran into the TPS issue, the plugs of for the 1995 and 1996 TPS are different, the 1995 is a single rectangular plug, and the 1996 has two female plugs in the sensor. My question is,... is it possible for me to use the 1996 harness on a s14 1995 motor with 1995 ECU? (i know there will be left over plugs) what do i need to do to get this running? can i just get a 1996 TPS and bolt it into the 1995 throttle body? do i need the whole 1996 throttle body and bolt it into the intake mani? is it possible to just splice wires and get to it like that? any help is appreciated !!! thank you. |

I don't think you can use the 96 harness with the 95 ECU without a patch harness...The 95 depending on the model was like OBD 1.5 whereas the 96 was full OBD2 regardless or model...IDK about the throttle body setup sorry...

Not sure if this will help, but I've use a 96 harness with a 95 ecu had no problems.
I have also used a 95 harness and ecu on 96 shell and motor with the 95 throttle body and tps work good. |

so, did you have to swap the whole throttle body? did you just try to use the 96 TPS on the 95 throttle body?
