I've been searching for awhile for an SR swap and I came across these "royaljapanesemotors.com" guys recently, from what I've seen they are based out of Canada and their SR swaps seem to be priced pretty well. Has anyone had any experience with these guys? And does anyone else know of good reliable sites with SR20's? I don't really have the option to go look at one in person, since I live in the middle of Idaho lol.

Importers are hit or miss. Even if it's mint, having it freighted over to you can turn a good motor into a piece of shit. There are a ton of variables. The best bet is find the closest option, ask for compression tests, best CASH price and head there with a truck and trailer and confirm the numbers. It's hard to buy something sight unseen and just 'hope.'

Another route is buy a head from someone on the forums and a block - or even a full set and have them ship. You'll generally get a better deal and MOST people here are more trustworthy.

Sometimes you can get a really good deal in a private sale instead of from an importer. I've seen many swaps locally sell for a good price that include lots of goodies like aluminum rads, intercooler kits, upgraded clutches and turbos etc.

Such a salty community, seriously what is wrong with you guys? I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with that website, and added a general question at the end just to have a better post. I'm not going to go "anti-zilvia" now because I like this site, I just don't understand why you have to be so rude, this is the shit that makes people not want to come back to this site, luckily enough for me I don't really get mad about things like this.

And I did google the info, I was just in search of more information. I was a new member that kept my mouth shut and read before I starting slapping my keyboard with my little dickbeaters. People are more prone to answering questions when you've used the search feature, Google, and exhausted all over avenues of help. We don't mind helping - we just aren't your mother nursing you every time you can't remember where you can buy a quart of oil or why your welded diff makes your wheels skip when you turn.

Okay, maybe this one was not the best post, but I thought my TBO post was not "dumb" as I googled, searched the forums, and did the whole nine yards for info on that website and body kit and found hardly any info. And guess what? I asked the community, and they answered and weren't complete fucking assholes and gave me good information, so this post was kinda shitty sure, but still you don't need to be this damn crtical of a new poster who made a few dumb threads, chill the fuck out man, it's a damn website.

I'll keep quiet more now, since I don't like to get flamed by guys who have nothing better to do but flame new members and make them feel like shit.

1. They're legitimately new which isn't unheard of but if they have decent inventory, I'm going to assume it's reason number two.
2. They changed their name because they were so shitty, they want to take another crack at fucking people under a different name.

If you want cool shit, deal with legit people instead of being a cheapskate. When people say things like 'price' on important shit like motors, internals, safety, etc., generally we are going to flame you into the ground.

Just an fyi, I didn't flame you because I was upset. I flamed you because it bothers me when people ask intro level questions about a chassis and motor that have been out for well over 2 decades. And, they've been popular for AT LEAST a decade in this country (although I'd argue the 240 really picked up speed around the 2002/2003 time period when people wanted to switch from FWD Hondas to RWD dori slide monsters). Either way, the info has been out for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. And you can check build threads to see who people are using (or for sale threads). At this point, even asking about LS swaps is old hat. But, glad you took it like a man and hung around.
