KA-T S15 GT28R Turbo Setup Complete List

I have my S13 Hatchback for about a year and I want to turbo my car now. I did suspension and brake upgrade already. My S13 is mainly for drifting. Since this is my first turbo car and first time to do this, please let me know if you have any suggestions/tips.

My goal for this S13: I want to have around 250-280WHP with responsive acceleration. I am interested in good response and low-end torque for drifting. I just want a typical good setup. Since I don't plan on rebuilding my KA24DE, I will run 8-10 psi boost. I did a compression test on my engine. The result is 180 psi for all 4 cylinders.

Originally, I want to get Garrett GT2860RS turbo. However, it seems like S15 OEM turbo will be cheaper and easier to setup (can use SR20DET bolt-ons).

There are my original threads:

1) Will my setup work? Am I missing anything? I am looking for a complete list.
2) What are other suggestions? Please no engine swaps. I just want to build my KA-T.

All the work will be done by me and my friend. The only thing I need from a welder is to drill/weld the bung for turbo oil return on the oil pan. I will road tune my car with Nistune myself, and I am still reading a lot of things for ECU tuning.

Please contribute. I think this will help alot of new people who wants to turbo their 240SX.

Thank you!

Do you guys think getting a TurboXS Knocklite is agood idea? Some said it's unless because the knock light is too sensitive, and can't tell if they have true engine knock or not.

Dude, No ones posted because you have a really long list of things. I didn't go through it, but it looks like your familiar with the parts, not familiar with the install, and pessimistic about the outcome once you're dedicated... There are billions of people describing their setups, so spend less time searching parts, and more time searching the Turbo FAQs and FSMs (both KA and SR). Doing this answers your first and second post. And, don't waste your money on your last post (my opinion).
Once you read more into others' setups, you need to decide for yourself. We aren't going to decide for you.
Not sure about the Megan products (another personal opinion), but skimming over the rest, your parts list looks [expensive and] good.

200 bucks for s15 injectors? not bad, although the 2nd injector looks like it has black stuff on it...maybe they're used? also, there's a zilvia vendor who's got a special on the t28's running...i think it's a little over 700 for the turbo and elbow(?) piping. i just bought a spare ka that i'm gonna boost so i'll be researching just like the OP

"you have a really long list of things."

Dude, this is the whole point of this thread. Instead of just focusing on some big parts like everyone else does, I want to show the whole package. You and I knew that turboing a car is not just slapping a turbo and call it done. This will help other new people who wants to turbo their cars. If you read my thread entirely, you would know that I spent alot of time on researching already. And you are right about that I have never turboing a car before, so I have no experience on installing at all. That's another reason to make this thread.

I just want to clarify things. Please don't flame me.

i don't think ppl are flaming you *shrug* but yeah that's an extensive list of parts. with the amount of thought you've put into it...you're not going to do some kind of work on the engine? maybe some machine work? just curious...and gl i'll be referencing your post for my build up for ideas

As you go about your research you will discover little things that you need to change, like the PCV system. Since its an S13 you are going to want to upgrade the ignition coil. Other than that you have your bases covered but I am inclined to say that you are over-thinking it.

hahaha same thing I was thinking. I did the Ka thing and it was awesome. 300hp but at a price tag of $5000. I eventually traded when the HG blew and got an s14 SR.

Now im tired of Sr's and Im looking for an I6 or V8

For the oil feed/return, I think I'll do this:

NISsport Oil Pressure Adapter for 240SX 1/8 BSPT (male & female) & 3 1/8 NPT (One 1/8NPT for oil feed; One 1/8NPT for oil pressure sender unit; One 1/8NPT for oil temp sender unit)

This setup will be cheaper and simpler (no need to cut stainless steel lines).

I didn't read any of that top list, but you don't need the above oil fitting adapter. You're not going to reuse the OE sender, and the oil filter bracket has two ports, one for oil feed, one for a true pressure gauge (if you choose to use one. $49 so you can hang the leaky, shitty OE sender back on is stupid.

1) Is it true that the stock oil pressure switch on S13 is only for oil pressure check? I just checked FSM (LC-3 & LC-4). It seems like the oil pressure switch is for plugging the hole only, and it doesn't connect to the ECU.

2) For the oil fitting adapter, are you talking about GReddy Oil Cooler Adaptor W/Thermostat 12401123? I know it has two extra -10AN fittings and I can buy 2 1/8npt GAUGE ADAPTOR for oil temp and oil pressure sending units.

Thanks!
