Man I wish I had the will to start working out again.
Since I quit soccer, I've gotten fat.

(Marathon Training blog(day:08/23/08)) So today was full of FAIL! I was supposed to run 12 miles and I only got 9miles..

I believe I failed because of a few reasons. First, the fact that the outside temperature was 93 degree and %65 humidity made it very difficult.... Second, I over did my Friday (back and shoulder) workout, AGAIN!! I'm finding that my refusal of giving up the heavy weights is catching up with me... Third, I had pain and tightness in my shins (commonly referred to as "shin splints") which fucked up my stride (I was told that if your stride is off for any reason, you should back off)..

I also forgot to mention (NOT THAT ANYONE IS ACTUALLY FOLLOWING THIS) that in the beginning I was fitted for custom fit orthotics, because I have a forefoot varus that causes my Posteromedial shin splints LOL!!! Consequently I'm going to be calling the Physical Therapy place tomorrow to let them know that I think there MIGHT be a problem with my orthotics

I was asked about my training schedule, soooo..
My weekly workout routine: (MON Chest & Anterior Deltoid fallowed by 45min easy run) (Tues Biceps & Triceps & abbs) (WED 70-80min hills run) (Thurs 45min easy run) (Fri Back and Lateral & Posterior Deltoid) (SatAre the days I go for distance.. I started back in May with a 3mile run and have been increasing in mileage about every other weekend until we get to a 20mile run, then taper back down 3 weeks before the 26.2 Marathon) (Sun Rest!)

I was told in the at the start of my training, that the training program might prove to be more of a challenge than the marathon itself.
I have been weight lifting/ body building for a long time and didn't want to loose the strength and size that I have worked so hard to build.. LOL!! So far I have lost 15lbs and counting and about %35 of my old strength

Oh well, better luck next Saturday (16mile run)

(Marathon Training blog(day:08/16/08)) Soo yeah, today was 14miles and although I felt I did very well (8-9minute mile pace) It was extra hard today because of a few contributing factors. First, I have refused to give up my upper body weight training, and Friday was "Back and shoulders"day, which of course I over-did. Second, I was up late Friday night playing with the new computer, and didn't sleep well afterwords. Third, I didn't eat right (carb up) the night before. So, I was;tired , sore, and lacking proper fuel even before the start of the run LOL!! Despite all of this, I kicked MAJOR ASS.. I even lapped a few fools on the "Bike trail" where we run (I'm not competitive at all ) I'm certainly paying the piper now, as I'm experiencing all kinds of new aches and pains. Well thats all for today.. I'm off to passout (next weeks run:12miles)

(Marathon Training blog(day:08/09/08)) Only ran 10 miles today and felt strong, I'm sure the start of the 2008 Olympics has got me amped up. Today I was able to hold a 8minute mile pace for the first 5 miles, then a solid 9 minute mile pace for the last 5. Forgot to apply "Anti Chafe" to some important areas and payed the price.. Feeling good about next Saturdays 14mile run, TTFN!

P.s. I love the fucking Olympics!!!!!
