car still won't start (name that plug!)
okay, i've done 3 weeks of searching and i have now hit a wall. Everything is in..e (engine wise) and i'm pretty confident that most of the wiring is done correctly and I found the neutral postion sensor. Here is the result. All electronics work, but when i turn the key, all i get is a clicking sound from the relay near the driver side fuse box. My next thing to check is the starter, but i don't want to take it out if I don't need to. I do have a few plugs that I have questions about and I was wondering if any of you guys can identify them. These are all located in the passenger side fuse box.
i believe this is a 8 prong female ![]() and i think this is a 2 prong male ![]() |

8prong is attached to your reverse/5th gear etc sensors.
I am pretty sure about that. The 2 prong, i don't remember. But is the starter signal wire hooked up??

take a long handled screw driver and touch the two outside prongs on the end of the starter together. If the car turns over then you know its good and getting power and its in your wiring i had to deal with this for forever (make sure car is not in gear)

I've had that clicking from the driver side box before(with a new battery even). Sometimes when I tried starting everything would shut off(no power at all). Turned out that the ground connection wasn't good enough. Pull your batterys ground wire off the car and clean the hell out of it and it's ground point. Hope this helps.

did you do an auto to manual swap, you were talking about neutral position and stuff. anyway if its not hooked up right, then you wont get any clicking at all. so your getting clicking thats gotta be the starter or battery. it maybe new but try charging it up a bit.
