I'll start off giving the story of the vehicle: I bought a 1990 240sx SE for 800$ as a shell/potential runner. The guy who owned it previously broke a head bolt off in the block, long story short, he ruined my chances of getting that bolt out and i scrapped that engine and started with a used replacement.
I hooked most of the stuff up just to see if it will run. Everything is good minus some janky wiring. I'm getting fuel, pump is kicking on, but no spark. These mystery plugs are just sitting by the fusebox with no connectors to go to them, does anyone know what they are?

sidenote: I've owned nothing but hondas my whole life, so this nissan stuff is a bit new to me,

Was the car running when you got it? If it was and these were not plugged in they are not the problem.

Assuming an Identical engine swap:

Check the wires to the Crank Position Sensor, coil pack and make sure you have a good ground.

They might be for an ABS actuator maybe?

Well, okay, I'll go through the basic no spark diagnosis, new coil, cap and rotor on Sunday and see what happens.

Those look like the 3 plugs that go on the side of the fuse box closest to the firewall. I believe they connect to the lower harness. when i get home I can get a pic of my setup and hopefully help you out.

I have an extra SOHC harness with 1 clip cut but my motor ran great without it. All you have to do is swap on the Dash connector from yours and it should be tits.!

also, found some cut wires under the dash near the ecu on the passenger's side of the vehicle. not sure if these are the problem also.

yellow and green and yello and red are tach, speed wires for the gauge, orange is the ignition signal(12v) They look like someone put both a DOHC and SOHC dash plug on there.

I would just pull the dash and harness and clean it up.

comming from the ECU blue plug there should be a brown or white plug that connects to one of those. Make sure thats in and tight. It "Could" be an issue but i dont think it will be directly related to the spark but It may need the 12v orange wire in order to send spark signal.

The 3 plugs by your fusebox that go to nowhere are for the lower harness on a auto trans car. Your car was originally automatic. Two of those wires should be wired up to your reverse lights, on the brown plug I beleive. I'm willing to bet that your reverse lights don't work do they?

On the underdash harness the white plug is for a singlecam engine harness, the brown is for a dualcam harness. Yours was probably swapped to a dualcam at some time or was planned on being swapped. When I do a dualcam swap on a singlecam car I simply de-pin the engine harness side of that connector and re-pin the wires into the exact same spots on the correct connector. To cut wires like that is janky as fuck. I would fix that, BUT it has NOTHING to do with no spark. All that wiring simply goes up to the cluster and the scan port.

I got the car to run, but runs like shit and nothing on the gauge cluster works. The car is a nightmare. I got a lot of it figured minus nothing on the cluster working and it won't idle at all. I made another thread with a video of my DTC's blinking but I can't read them.
