loads of pressure in cooling system HELP!
i noticed my car gushes out coolant from the overflow tank, to a point where i have to fill my radiator back up with coolant. it never overheats, but i did also notice my coolant hoses are super pressurized when the car is hot. i did replace my radiator cap to a ARC 1.3 bar. could that be the problem? why would it do that? and should i go back to my stock cap?
S13 SR20DET blacktop, stock hoses, koyo radiator, elec. fans, pretty new water pump and thermostat. |

how do new hoses help my problem? are you saying hoses go bad and make pressure build up??
i have 2 spal fans hooked up to a temp sensor on the radiator, i have a newer S14 KA temp sensor to work with my S14 cluster. when its cold its cold and when it warms up it floats above the "C". works perfectly fine and the fan comes on when its hot. |

just get a new radiator cap. obviously the cap isnt holding pressure good enough. its pushing the spring of the cap to bypass to the reservoir and over flowing. i dont know how your not over heating like this.

one easy way to try first is a cap
if its not the cap there is alot of things head lift warped/uneven head surface -if a hg was done before

ok, i put my stock radiator cap back on for now.
i replaced the head gasket to a apex 1.5mm when i did my oil pump and installed cams. i replaced both sensors red and blue capped ones that are under the manifold. let me see if the radiator cap helps. i hope its not a headgasket problem =( ill check for bubbles from the radiator. |
