I just got my car back from my mom who borrowed it yesterday, and it seems the steering wheel is sitting about 1/2" or 1" farther left than it was before. The only thing she says happened was a hard brake to avoid hitting some ####### who pulled in front of her from a stop. Front wheel alignment still seems right on, and other than feeling and looking in the wrong spot the steering column works normally.

Anybody with any ideas on this? Is it all in my head?

I would think it would take a pretty major collision to bend the steering column. I also don't think it would turn freely if it was bent or out of place. Probably just in you head.

You may just be paranoid like I am when someone has driven my car. &nbsp;I swear my car felt a bit out of alignment since I took it to the dealer a few weeks ago. &nbsp; But, it seems just fine now. &nbsp;I don't like it when someone else drives my car when I wasn't in it--it just doesn't feel the same, kinda like someone has invaded my personal space! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I would completely believe that a dealership screwed up an alignment.
