quest. about fuse box

hey guys i'm not sure but i think my s14 is missing a piece from the main fuse box under the hood. if u were to stand in front of my front bumber and look at it, there's a gap to the right of the fuse box. i wasn't sure if its suppose to be like that or not. by the way my s14 is a base model, does that make any difference? my car seems to run ok, except the cruise control doesn't work. any help would be appreciated. thanx.

There's a good chance that its for an option your car didn't come with. Foglights maybe?

Take a picture of the area you think it's missing from and post it here.

If it's the area I'm thinking of, it's the spot where the two keyless entry relays go for the stock Nissan alarm. My 95 S14 SE had the relays in that spot.

Anyhow, hope this answers your questions.

Base models don't have the slot you're talking about. Common sense would have told you that though, because obviously your car wouldn't suddenly be missing a bank of relays overnight.
If everything works, move on. If not, follow the FSM's procedure and diagnose it, but don't look for mysterious parts that you believe disappear as the problem.
