Ka24de high compression and ping
building dohc with sohc pistons
trying to avoid ping and run on 93 octane im running a heat range colder for the plugs and retarding the ignition timing a bit the big thing is cams im reading a lot of people saying that less overlap means less chance of ping and I came to my own conclusion that a smaller intake cam will help reduce ping as well Have I done my homework right? any cam experts out there know what kind of effect advancing or retarding my intake cam might have on ping? the motor will see abuse so it needs to not ping itself to death it has to stay at 11 to 1 compression and run on 93 octane (that's what I want. so dont question that part)
